The Bike Shop / lights for night riding
« on: October 18, 2018, 12:50:56 AM »
i thought i could find some perfect light setup on craigslist for twenty bucks but i can’t. i don’t even know what keywords to type!

i’m looking for a led lamp on a tripod with rechargeable battery that hopefully i could recharge with the usb charger in my truck. can i get a cheap recommendation?

The Bike Shop / maxxis torch with pegs?
« on: September 08, 2018, 05:47:26 PM »
their wedsite said it can be used for light street but i’m looking at the sidewalls on the rear wheel  and they seem to stick out further than the tread, that would be sidewalk death with a few shirt feebles ..20x1.95

i’m running their ‘silkshield’ tires which they claim have some sort of sidewall protection

there was a drag race deathrace from the top of at twin peak down market to the click tower and more people ran into bear tiers and got hit by cars and pedaled out of it than ppl who died

i ran into a b speed wobbled into a barrier and ass slid it back out cuase a dixie ran into a wall i front o no he survived but later he got robbed by a car but his front rack was so full of bullshit and pabts that his back end swung out but he kept going forward and the later i set up an up ledge and wall rides a moving bus while two people snakes me. my bald litentires slipped out one of the snakes and that’s why i didn’t land it

The Bike Shop / maxxis tires silkworm vs silkshield
« on: August 19, 2018, 03:02:53 PM »
the silk worm tires are about an oz lighter than the silkshield tires. they say the silk shield tires have more puncture protection on the sidewalls. does this equate to grind protection on the sidewallk? is the one oz of liner on the inside or outside of the tire?

anyone have experience with these silkshield/silkworm tires?

maxxis website says these tires are good for light street. i assume that includes the occasional rough feeble. i want a 1.95 torch on the rear. anyone have experience grinding on this ultra light tire?

The Bike Shop / Any lightwate street cassettes
« on: August 05, 2018, 07:26:47 PM »
Are there any litewate cassettes that are lighter than the anti gram? For “light street”
I do occasionally grind but not hard and sloppy
Ti parts and 48h  and 10t is desirable
Should I try profiles?

The Bike Shop / 24mm cranks
« on: July 22, 2018, 02:16:37 PM »
im looking into buying some 24mm fit indent cranks.
theyre on sale for cranks + sprocket for $150 and theyre overall about 2oz lighter than my twombolts.
but my main concern is that the they have been out for a while, no one is buying them and they will soon stop producing 24mm mid bb's
should i buy them anyways?

The Bike Shop / ebike Bmx commuter
« on: June 07, 2018, 12:14:19 AM »
I was gonna get a motorcycle but then I though "hmmm, ebike means no license plate" so ima get an ebike instead. plus do I really wanna be jumping shit at 60moh and doesn't a motor cycle weigh like 10x as much as an ebike?

so I'm looking to spend $1500-2500 on a bike
preferably something used so I. can get it half price
geometry as close to a bmx as I can get, 24 or 26in? hard tail?
litewaighte but not like titanium, carbon fiber light. something like a mid school Bmx weight, I want to be able to bunny hop it.
suggestions?

I want a badass motorized, curb jumping commuter I can run red lights on. I know it's only a matter of time before a bunch of fucktards get a hold of these and the police start to regulate them, I wanna have fun now!

The Bike Shop / metal shavings inside odsy antigram hub
« on: April 19, 2018, 01:12:03 PM »
so I've occasionally been feeling a grinding and resistance in my drivetrain when I pedal

~my driver is also missing one spring&pawl~

so upon inspecting my hub I notice metal shavings inside the hub. is this caused by the missing pawl and spring? is there a bearing inside the driver? I have not been able to spot where the metal is benign shaved from. I keep my hub lubed, but have had to clean out the metal shaving encrusted grease maybe two or three times in the past two months.

has anyone else experienced this problem?

The Bike Shop / email to the city about slippery concrete
« on: April 05, 2018, 10:39:38 PM »
hey, I'm a XXXCity resident and an avid bmx rider. I notice more and more skateparks popping up. a lot of them probably lack input from the people who actually use them as kids and young adults don't keep up with what the city is doing. well I hear you guys are building a new skatepark in XXXCity and a huge problem me and my fellow bmx riders have had with this wave of recently built skateparks is that the concrete is way too slippery, it is dangerously slippery and we have to change our riding style to accommodate this extremely slick concrete. I know there's a balance out there between the high speed slick concrete and the old regular concrete (which grips). could you please forward this concern to both the contractor building the park and also the city working representing this skatepark project.

I should also add a part about having a couple quarters and wedges bigger than 3ft tall

The Bike Shop / aluminum bb spacer idea thingy
« on: November 18, 2017, 12:04:15 PM »
so I finally caved in and got a frame with a mid bb, one mid bearing weighs as much as like 2spanish bearings. all this extra weight is very upsetting

could it be possible to fabricate a lil aluminum spacer thingy to put between a mid bb she'll and a Spanish bearing? just a thought
