I have tubless ready 20" rims (299g 35mm OD wide, and 330g, 40mm OD wide), but always too lazy to try and no sealant.
Also always drilling F/V presta to A/V auto and usin a tube to build the bike quickly and go out.
A/V valves with thread are available, so I might try one day once I get new tires. Wondering if thick tires like BSD will be easy to seal with compressor and how they wilk hold the air.

I did some getto tubless on mtb 27.5" with basic Shwalbe tires (non tubless ones), just rotated and shaked the wheel few times in 24h, the sidewall was leaking some tubless milk, then sealed completly. It was working.

some entry level bikes used Mid size BB (simple tube w/o any bearing stopper), steel or alloy cup with Spanish BB.
Make no sense, cheap for OEM, but extra parts, fitting, creaking, tolerances issue, etc

Usually I snapped bend cracked PCs daily or weekly. Dozens each year.

JCPC are big enough (Im hate small and midium size pedals). And you can grind them forever. I had 3 pairs since 4 years on 2 bikes. I weared one down to the axle finally and just changed to new one. Metals pins are stopping the wear. Best invention ever.

street: summer cruising - Demolition Momentum 2.35 in graywall weights under 500g. It needs to be replaced when used, becomes thin and easy to cut by broken glassPlus custom 305g super stiff rims made or real good material (better than most 450-500g  rims). I finally have a superlight set or wheels. No matter I use frecoaster and 300g front hub.

everyone who says 48s are shit are always smooth flowy style riders.

honestly if your a sketch cunt who does loads of grinds/drops/sketchy ass spins and/or isnt very good at maintaining a bike, 48s do make a difference. i see people go through so many wheels and break spokes weekly who would deffos benefit from 48 spoke wheels

48s are shit.

I own 36 and it looks like this since one year. no problem

The Bike Shop / Re: 3/16 Chains
« on: May 02, 2016, 03:27:00 PM »

LHD + RHD setup = one day joke that terrified some local riders and bike shop staff. Extremly heavy with two 3/16" chains and shitty (non heat-treated)6mm thick  steel sprockets. It was build based on ACS Southpawls 16t LHD frewheel imported from US. RHD used cheap Dicta/Liftu frewheel with lifespan of about 1 week.

3/16" chains fitted only 11t or bigger drivers. I used to run them with 24t (indestrucatble) steel sprocket for 24" wheels.

Anyway Im happy these heavy bastards are gone. They costed me more than proper bmx chains since I dammaged too many chain-tools.
510hx made by KMC or better PYC (e.g. Cult) it way better. Mushroomed pins, bla bla bla. Light and strong. Paired with perfectly round 7075 sprockets and proper chainline ---> WIN. No more broken chains (except few times a year ha ha ha).

btw.. today I ate concrete shit when my connecting link of 510hx exploded (which does not happen to often...). Hopefully I was TWO pedal strokes from local bike shop and they had some 1/8" connecting links. Which usually I can find here only online. what a WIN.

The Bike Shop / Re: is anyone still making 7075 stems?
« on: March 26, 2016, 01:33:50 PM »
I actually bent few 6061 stem bodies slightly and this is not a problem at all. I treat this like a wear / abuse. Bent is safe and will bend only a little.

I never had problems with bar slippage. instalation problem? / old bent bars / not degreased / not cleaned or bolts not checked. Or painted bars under the stem. I used many times mtb 6061 150-200g stems with M6 bolts even once M5. Those are 25.4 with shims to fit 22.2 bmx bars. Even with shims never slipped. Paired with 8-10" bars. I only fear snapped bolts (1 - then slipage or 2-4 then bars disconected which is scary). It happened to me many times even with M8 bolts (drilled ones like Alienation). Now im only using full plain M8 even in my street mtb. And M4 :) in suspension 27.5 bike

Im using look-like-a-brick stems, and like very wide designs (not like old Shadow) which looked like pussy comparing to my Solid OG Lite 6061. Maybe because of love for wide stems (+-50mm) I have no bars slippage problem. plus I dislike body cut designs like Coalition Povah/ old Shadow/ Aliention or designs with split front caps (then less clamping area). So I dont understand why everybody talks about stem area and bar slippage...?? Is this really that common issue? I never had it. I only saw some 13yo kids on Wallmart\Alibaba bmx bikes doing first bunnyhops then had crossbar hit Toptube cause nobody (them, parent, 7-11 sales never tightened stem bolts)..

Currently I use again Odyssey 6061 gold stem and run it upside down like a topload with Colony  Ten-acious bars. Not a single problem. Because proper LONG bolts with BIG bolt-heads are used. Even allen slot are deep not shallow like in some stems. This lead me to state my topic subject is not really right... (!!!) 7075 might help but my main issue is - new stems are not anymore OG bricks 320g. They use 6061 + less and less material, shorter and shorter bolts are my problem
Is I usually strip the handlebar bolts because in topload stems they are shorter and shorter thesedays. It happens without any overtigtening. And new stems work sometimes with only few threads lets say 5-7 instead of 10. Even with proper installation this feels weak.

Another problem I have is snapped plain M8 bolts. Sometimes I dont even know it just a noisy click. Then Two days later bar slippage or desintegration when the rest snaps...

But main problem is stripped threads in 6061 body and snapped bolts
