What was the supposed benefits of the OX Plat frames?

The tubing was supposed to be much higher quality in regards to strength compared to normal 4130 chromoly that everyone else was using at the time. They could use thinner tubing to make a lighter frame that was supposed to be just as strong as your typical 7-8 lb behemoth that everyone rode in the late 90's/early 2000's.

I feel like it's a very slow moving trend right now but hopefully it keeps going. Remember when they came out with the Bullitt frame? It was drastic and got a lot of attention. I think Standard needs another frame like that to get some more people interested. Like maybe a 12.8cs, 76ha and 11.00bb or something. Just something wild. Because even though it's american made and have higher than average quality tubes and everything else, I think them being generally the same for years and years makes them easy to over look with you have all these other brands with new frames every year and rainbow/splatter/neon paint options.

That geo sounds yucky.

Traded my animist for an fbm joint

Why? Animists are awesome!
come on it's a FBM Joint...

For real. That's like saying you'd rather bang Honey Boo Boo's mom over Aubrey Hepburn in her prime. That's fine if that's your preference, but know this: You are a fetishist, a blasphemer, and a degenerate. Long live the FBM Joint.

I trued the rear wheel. I'm also considering rawing the frame and fork and letting both develop that nice, rusty, patina while having the rest of the bike be relatively nice and dialed looking. I'm pretty sick of fussing over keeping the paint nice.

Sat around and admired it.

Earlier in the week I painted it, trued the wheels, cleaned everything up, regreased all of the threads, relubed the brake cable, patched the rear tube, and put on a new sprocket and seat. Every 3 months or so I take about a week long break from riding and lifting. Regardless of whether I'm feeling beat up and sore I feel like it's good to mentally check out from pushing myself.

It looks good now and feels solid but in 3 weeks it's gonna feel like a mushy piece of shit and look like it too.

Started the build on my Og stricker . it's gonna be slow. might get forks or cranks next month.
Seat post and bottom bracket installed. . On the hunt for some decent shape powerbites.

Is that a stricker with a mid BB? Those seemed hard to come by even when they were being made.

I'm between work assignments and the town I've made homebase until the next job comes through has a decent little cement park. I've been enjoying some pretty nice hips and quarters everyday this past week or so.
