Goddamnit. Rest easy, Mike.

To pile on more tragedy, Alaskan passed last year. There's more info on BMXboard about his passing.

I would never suggest this to anyone other than a BMX rider: go to Tulsa. There are tons of good street spots all over the city, plus there's a good scene in the city. Also, St. Louis is worth checking out.

What about Jasper Tavington Esquire?

He was one of the originals. He returned with a slew of names, but was inevitably banned by letting down his guard or posting something that pissed off sheep. Anyone recall Brendan's BG name? He was also another early member. I believe it was Brent Webb who started TAH.

His parts take time but the work is precise. He won't rip you off, if that's what you're worried about.

That bike is a hot tranny. Sure, it is hot at first glance but then you start to notice is a little off, then way off. Hopefully before you're riding it.

That bike's more like the hairy, overweight neighbor who likes to wear a dress occasionally: looks like shit from any distance.

I managed to get a couple of rides in before going away last week, sherwood pines & Cannock for the first time.

Cannock highlighted an issue with the forks which I initially thought was a loose headset, I've got a rattling when the fork is under very light load & some slight movement on the stansion which is making me think the bushings are a little worn. Got my eyes on a lightly used set of lowers so I can just swap out the lowers & see if that solves it.

Photo from the cafe at Cannock

You may want to route the front hose inside the fork leg. It offers better strike protection and it's "proper" so you won't be harassed by the PinkBike crowd.

I'm not a fan of Orange frames, but that thing looks pretty good. For some reason, I think I'd like it even better if the front triangle were pink, too.

People come for the community and information, not the software, if they left, it's partly on you guys as well. People will put up with a lot of crap for good company and info.

That's the truth. I put up with the sticking liquid turd Ride forums long enough to find the first BikeGuide. I can't even begin to explain the mess that was the BMX forum in the late 90s/early 00s.

how do you not feel stupid riding rubens spots, with ruben, on a fuckin iron horse. to then have him ride your own bike better than you. ouch

The video is clearly an advertisement for Sony Action Cams, so I doubt Rheeder would spend a year filming an epic part. I think it's also obvious that this is an homage to Ruben/travel video. I doubt that he felt stupid hanging out and riding with a BMX legend.

Your last sentence: ouch.

This looks awesome, but I'm conflicted over how I feel these should be built up. Like, I don't know what my ideal would be. Maybe a Sean Emery set up?

I reckon four piece bars, four or no pegs, fat seat, rear brake, bash guard and a bottle opener somewhere on the bike would be the ideal set up. Bonus points for peg bosses.
