hahahah wow. i mean i feel that's insanely disrespectful, but at the same time, i have to admit it's a bold move.

what an incoherent bunch of bollocks. i went into this having respect for harry main's riding, if not for his mark webb-lite image, but it took about two paragraphs for him to prove himself a rambling idiot.

the uk already has the shittiest bmx image there is, if he wants to make it even worse that's on his conscience.

i'd personally rather bmx was a sport of elitist luddites that are down for life than the hallmark of chavs before they can afford their first mopeds.

I got money for a freecoaster. I've had my eyes set on Odyssey clutch, but it's sexton's signature hub and I'm not sure I should be supporting them. I know I'm an idiot.
You guys got any suggestions on what rim to get? I was gonna get the gsport birdcage but they've only got the ribcage in stock. Wouldn't mind getting something cheaper either.

i don't have any insider knowledge, but i'd wager odyssey felt they could pick up 2-3 potential future stars ('the common crew') for the price of chase or sean alone. i'm sure the young guys are hungry as fuck and in comparison chase and sean started to look less dedicated.

i doubt they gave them 'as long as they could' though, otherwise they wouldn't have been so flabbergasted by getting the boot https://www.instagram.com/p/_cAxOXytxd/?taken-by=chase_hawk .

it's a massive fucking miscalculation imho and makes odyssey look the worst it's ever looked in my eyes. hawk and sexton are essentially worldwide stars in bmx and have their own styles, the new dudes have all the tricks, but you could switch one out for the other and hardly notice the difference. at this point odyssey lends them more legitimacy than they do to the brand.

kink has a universal guard out that i used with my geisha lite, i reckon it fits pretty much anything. it's pretty awesome, but since it doesn't go on the axle i actually managed to lose mine when i broke some spokes and my wheel moved. i'd still recommend it though

I never cared for Aaron Ross' riding. Gary young obviously had an amazing part, but the whole video felt too 'young bloods' for me. I understand the team needs to get updated but dropping your OGs and focusing on people that are not yet associated with Odyssey makes me feel like there's nothing behind the brand.

I might be an idiot but this actually makes me reconsider buying the Clutch. Odsy had the best combination of team and products; the products are still good, but it just looks like another trend chasing soulless company to me now.

That's bullshit, did you actually read the post explaining why they got dropped?

You should watch the come up/ oddy interview.

yeah i read it. it still looks kinda disloyal to me, but i haven't watched the interview yet. what's your take on the situation?

I just noticed odyssey pulled a Primo and let chase hawk go...who drops chase hawk .  Wow is the industry that bad financially?

wtf i thought you were wrong, but he's not up on the team page. this has to be some sort of a mistake, he was just in their video?

i'm holding back judgement until we know more but i'd be shocked if this was true.

wow that's amazing. I remember seeing the video he put out right before going into surgery and thinking it must be devastating to lose such a talent, so I'm really glad to see him back on a bike, spirits unbroken. and I know it's a cliche, but he still seems better than I am, much respect.

augie simoncini and a few others from the former stranger team have been very vocal about leaving because of rich hirsch and the mismanagement of the brand / fake camaraderie, and not actually because of LZ. just looking at the brands rich hirsch has managed so far guy looks unreliable as fuck

also, as a sidenote, no one outside of america and the uk knows (or knew until recently) who the fuck adam_lz is.

i actually liked some of his older videos tbh but i think it's all gone to his head (he is a star in his own world)

i mean filming your proposal in itself is insanely cringe-worthy and makes me a bit sick. that's not what appealed to me about bmx when i first started and it's a bit of a letdown to imagine a new generation of riders being pulled in through this shit.
...and then the dig thing was just very very misguided and not worded properly.

I will say tho that i think the whole industry has been eagerly waiting for this misstep and i feel like a lot of pent up anger has been pinned on this one tweet.

i hope the tide of new riders will not be too large and they'll actually develop and their own pace and move on from lz, but i'm not holding my breath

Am I being silly by being more concerned about the disastrous cuts to public services than the 'terror threat'?

this. the whole terror thing is a sideshow. bread and circuses, and I guess a bit of terror so we can curtail privacy.

Inequality continues to increase, but i think enough people are starting to wake up to the daylight robbery that's going on and the rise of Corbyn, and Sanders in America (although they're starting with a major handicap) is a very encouraging sight.

and btw, even though Denmark and Sweden are a bastion of civilisation Sweden especially has been on an alarming path for at least the past 10 years. I'm not confident the current generation will have the wisdom to reverse the rise of neoliberal ideas simply because many of them seem to lack the context to really understand how good social democracy has been to them.
but that's a side-note, because I'd probably still rather settle in Scandinavia, rubbish weather and all, than anywhere else.

Lol indeed. Just because you live comfortably and free in the US doesnt mean that the foreign policy makes other countries similar

I believe in the American way of life simply cause even the lowest class citizen here has a minuscule chance to change how everything is done worldwide.

for real? really? still?
