I eventually went with the ACOG without the rmr, I felt it was to tall to use effectively and the acog with the green horseshoe reticle was surprisingly good at close range.  I also bought a lower when the assault weapons ban passed here in CA and figured I couldnt just let it sit around so I finished the build.  I now have two LWRC's, one m6 and one IC SPR 14.7" and a sig p226 elite .40 in jail

Deciding on optics for the AR, narrowed it down between these too.
trijicon acog 4x32 with the rmr red dot (eye relief is a bit short)

or
eotech hhs1 holo with folding 3x magnifier (heavy and not as clear as the acog)

Anyone got experience with either?

I spent all weekend shooting my old 22lr and I think I want to just jump in a get a solid bolt action rifle to learn some precision long range shooting.  I was wondering if I should just get a cheap sub $300 .308 rifle scope combo like the Savage axis xp and the Mossberg 100 atr, or if I should just shell out some more cash and go with a nice Remington 700 sps 24" with a Mueller tac 2 for around $850 that my local shop has?

oh, and the guy on the first page of this thread was wrong about the .44 mag being the most powerful handgun. the most powerful handgun is the s&w .500 magnum.

Thats a quote from dirty harry. . .you should know that if you know guns
