Another old trick is to throw the crank arm in the freezer for a hour.  Cold makes metal contract, which sometimes can assist loosening a tight bolt.

Playing around with my Clutch, it does seem that from session to session the grub screw will loosen a bit. A pretty big issue for those who like to ride with minimal slack.  For the last several months, I've rode with full slack and now prefer riding that way, so it isn't much of an issue for me.

I wonder if covering the grub screw with blue loctit threadlocker would be a solution.

I have a little wobble in my clutch, but whats worse is random engagement doing backward peg wheelies.  I can do a full back pedal, to ensure everything is full disengaged and then go into a backwards peg wheelie.  After rolling for about 10 feet the hub will enage for no apparent reason and the cranks start spinning.

Well, I found the issue tonight.  I took the hub apart to find the clutch adjustment grub screw free floating inside the hub shell.  Maybe I loosen it too much before as I like to ride with full slack. I put the hub back together after cleaning all parts and lots of fresh grease.  I'm pleased to say the hub feels like new again and no more issues.

Do think it would be possible to cut both ends flush with the locknuts, tap both ends for the bolts, and then use the hub in a 3/8ths dropout frame?  I just got a new flatland frame and the dropouts are 3/8th.

I don't see why not.  As long as you mark the axle well for where the cone nuts stop and then cut it nice and straight, that shouldn't be a problem.

Cool, I think I might give it a try.  What size tap would you use for g sport bolts?

I left 5mm sticking out the end past the cone nut, so it would sit in the dropout.  I thought about cutting it flush and using a Blue6 chromo bolt with the shoulder, but decided to use the volcano bolt since it's 6mm.

Bunky, for the side you femaled, did you cut the axel all the way, so that the end of the axel is flush with the lock nut or did you leave a little bit of the 14mm axel to sit in the dropouts?
