Sell and Swap / WTB: 11t Profile/Madera driver
« on: June 12, 2017, 02:10:08 AM »
I'm looking for an 11t driver to fit Profile/Madera hubs.
If you got one complete with pawls and springs that would be cool, if not just the driver is fine.
Let me know.
Thanks.

Bike Gallery / Stranger Ballast
« on: June 07, 2015, 02:01:04 PM »
So stoked on this ride.  It's built up using parts I already had and some internet buy & trade deals.
The bike itself is a little heavier than what I rode previously, but it rides 'light' and is super solid.  I especially like the classic look with the tall head tube, tall stand over, and faux open drop outs.

The Bike Shop / Fly Manual vs. Odyssey Springfield brakes
« on: May 13, 2015, 02:51:22 AM »
Yeah, so I'm a dinosaur and I like brakes along with doing a good fufanu, abubaca and hill bomb…
As the title says, Fly Manuals or Odyssey Springfields.  Pluses?  Minuses?
I currently run a simple straight cable/clear pad set up with Odyssey Evo 2's.

The Bike Shop / What's the status on new Odyssey products?
« on: April 26, 2015, 03:14:26 AM »
There have been quite a few shots and videos regarding some new Odyssey stuff.
Any word on release dates or details?  Here are a few I've seen mentioned and prototypes on riders bikes checks, but haven't seen or heard anything further.

Dugan pedals & stem
Raiford stem
Ross stem
Hawk 24" tires
Freecoaster
G-Sport Simian rear cassette

What's the deal?

The Bike Shop / Smooth half link set up?
« on: March 20, 2015, 10:31:25 AM »
I will be up gearing from 28:10 to 30:10, but to keep the wheel in that 'sweet spot' I have to run a half link.

I live on the top of a hill, and some of my riding consists of bombing the hill to the local schools for a session, then climbing the 1-2 miles back uphill(sometimes steep).  My bike has always had KMC 510 chains and it's perfect blend of strength, weight, and price.  I've tried using the generic KMC half link and it was smooth on some set ups, but 'knotchy' on others.  Also, that thing is thin, so putting a lot of pressure on it is scary and always a concern when riding.  Not very confidence inspiring.

I had a used Cult half link for a bit and that thing was rough, you could feel and hear every link roll over the driver, and it wore into my Rachet hub a bit...  Granted, I don't know how worn in/ out that thing was but it sure wasn't smooth.

So, basically, what's a good, smooth, running half link set up?

The Bike Shop / Cruiser guys, ATF 24" vs Wave C vs Liquid, input please.
« on: November 29, 2014, 01:40:04 PM »
I currently ride a 2010 Fit CR 24" that I picked up from CMB.  The frame is a 21.25", with 13.5" BB, and 14.75" CS.
I like the ride, but something feels 'off'.  My current 20" is a 21", with 11.5" BB, and 13.25" CS.  I love the way the 20" rides.  Very 'poppy' with room up front, and a low, 'in the bike' feel.

Of the three, Liquid, ATF, or Wave C, which would ride closer to the type of 20" I ride?
The Liquid is on one end of the spectrum with a lowish BB but the shortest CS, and the Wave C on the other end with the highest BB and medium CS.  I almost feel like the S&M would be very similar to what I currently ride.

Thoughts, experiences, and input is appreciated.

Mahalo.
