The Bike Shop / 24" bmx frames?
« on: February 01, 2016, 06:34:23 AM »
Looking at building up a 24" bike as a sort of cruiser/travel/short commute.

Looked at the Sunday model c, seems as if they've lowered the quality of the frames to cut the price?

Ideally i'd like something like the model C, maybe a bit higher standover, I might be nostalgic but I think that most modern frames looks like scooters with their super low sloping top tubes.

Ideas?

there's no way that i could justify a hasselfish though haha.  not using my hasselblad for stuff that pays off that much

what did it go for?

I suppose that's what you get for beeing out in the backcountry from 0600 every day

haha. yeah the guy is officially pissed at me for telling people at fotosidan that it takes 2-3weeks to get the negatives now and that one of my friends gets ignored by him. she's been waiting for prints since january

now she got the negatives back with a note that he didn't have time to do it because of personal issues. kinda funny since I know people that developed stuff there and he's been advertising on fotosidan _alot_ during this time

I found a place. aifo.se sold bw filters. i'll pick one up when i get back home

"not everybody shoots with the luxury of a d700. but thanks for reminding me."

coming from the guy that just posted a hasselblad that he got.

c'mon man.

you sleep 7hours/night
you go to school/study 10hours/day (high count)
you work out for 2hours.

that leaves 3hours for eating, shooting and developing.

I had a full time job, took two college classes and played the thing equal to college basket over here in sweden. I still had time to shoot, develop and scan

yeah, scott is right. it's pretty much just do avoid getting it blown out.

i tested it back home and cut the piece just small enough to avoid getting the framelnes dark(35mm) but still increase the contrast in the patch and making the 135 or 90 wichever you see when yo have the 35mm frameline up go a little bit darker

well.
you pretty much have the right to get it hand checked. at least in the US. just put it in a transparent plastic bag and tell them that it's film and that it is two weeks work or something.   (kinda sketchy, cause it would be pretty easy to fill them with something explosive hah)

led bags, the xray machinist will recognize and know what it is, if it's not the first day at the machine.   they will just increase the strength until they see straight through it.
i've done a test with my mju. passed the xray about 50times and the apx100 made it out fine.   i've fogged some portra 400nc though. and i know that jfax fogged something on his trip (right?)

the xray at the carry on is way weaker than the checked luggage. so don't leave your film in that bag.

on another note, it's really fun to crawl through the carry on xray,  fastest way to see if anythings broken haha

led bags is super good. until you realize that you just turn up the power on the xray to see straight through the bag.

yes. only a hasselblad would leave you with less pictures but with better quality, for sure.

but im thinking about switching iso, storage of memory cards (film takes alot of space and you cant leave it in a warm car, take it through Xray without hassle and so. the only "really" good think about film while traveling is no need for batteries. but then again we all have cellphones with us so we need to charge it every now and then
