I don't know what I'm more stoked about, the return of RNC, or seeing Bunky is still here.

Yeh, that is one badass bike!

Who countersunk the stem for you?
Cheers mate. I did it myself.

That bike looks crazy good.  The gold seat post actually sets it off in a good way.

You trimmed the dropouts and went shorter on the rear end IIRC?
Correct!

Don't really need a super knobby tyre for dirt as it isn't really loose like you might find on an mtb track. You can still get light tyres from companies like Maxxis, Tioga and KHE. Fly Rubens are still the gentleman's choice.
There are definitely riders that still care about weight like back in 2009. They are, how you say, le park rats. The market is largely ignoring park riders with the exception of companies like Total and Colony. Not everyone is a jibs rider but that is 95% of what the market is catering for just now.

EDIT: Also, find me some Fly Sergio tyres.
I've got some of you want some.

Powerlites are the best bar ever made.

I recall there being some British park shredder who was riding them in the early 00's. Anyone remember who that was?  He was in Props videos, contests, etc.

Amos Burke?

That thing is light! Not sure how heavy MTB stems tend to be but compared to a BMX stem its light.

Based on the renderings it looks like a two bolt system, one from the side and one from the side. Could be two different versions but Im am interested to see how it is supposed to work.

I can only see one bolt in the renders.

Have you never seen his wheel build tutorial?

That's a sofa...

:)
G.

Better to be a sofa engineer than an armchair engineer. 2 people can fit on a sofa while with an armchair you're flying solo.

The argument made that as bars have become larger/taller there is more leverage and therefore more chance of slipping. A 1" Ø clamp area has more surface area and would be less likely to slip. Obviously changing industry standards is a massive hurdle, it has been done before with steerer tubes. I guess time will tell.

Any armchair engineers want to wade in on sprag clutches in hubs?

For one I can say when riding a coaster, it is more difficult to judge speed.
Tried silent zero slack hubs over 10 years ago:-

LukeTom said armchair engineers, your opinion isn't valid G.

Can I bolt the 30t mds guard to the c-512 sprocket?
Potentially. If you mount it to the holes though you may have clearance issues with the crank arm and sprocket bolt. The MDS guard was designed to fit between the 5 "spokes" of the MDS sprocket not directly to them. You could sandwich a guard either side and bolt them up in the negative space.

T least you'll be able to run everyone's cranks. And buy bearings off the shelf for some of them

Technically speaking you still won't be able to get off the shelf bearings for 22mm mid. They are generally only common now in the bike industry. That was the whole benefit of Spanish BB's, the 37mm outer diameter was available off the shelf in many inner diameter options to suit the numerous spindle diameters of the day (excluding 15/16" as it wasn't around).

No.

Mid has ONE standard size, 3/4" (so fit normal Profiles etc).

Spanish had ONE standard size 20mm (so fit nothing except some cheap OEM cranks)

However, Spanish was always just that bit too small.

:)
G.

I stand corrected. My main point though was that you still wont be able to get "off the shelf" bearings for 22mm mid. I certainly wasn't advocating Spanish BB's being a better alternative, I simply thought I remembered David from fly justifying the 37mm bearing OD preference for Spanish BB's due to the fact they had more options. It would appear there are far less "off the shelf" options available for the 1-5/8" bearing OD of Mid however, I'm sure you'll prove me wrong G.
