I haven't touched a bike in probably ten years, though I still often dream about riding one. This place was amazing at it's peak, back when forums were the place to go for industry news, media and just socializing online. Better times, for sure.

16 years in November. Holy fuck boys. My account would be learning how to drive right about now.

They grow up so fast, don't they?

I know this news is old, but damn. Definitely not what I wanted to see on one of my annual BG logins.

I still pop in once or twice a year and came looking for some old photos I posted that I've misplaced locally. Looks like all the old topics got purged.

Holy  hell... a very detailed and thorough review of many different gun care products here: http://ronkulas.proboards.com/thread/274/review-comparison-gun-care-products

Looks like the top three products would be: Frog Lube, Hornady One Shot, and WD40 Specialist.

If the farthest you can realistically shoot is 500 yards then I would just stick with .223/5.56. It will be more  than adequate at those distances and being cheaper to shoot definitely doesn't hurt.

Yeah, but I still kind of want a 308 anyway. Even if not practical, will be more fun. :)

I've not even properly sighted in my AR anyhow. I just completed the build a month or so ago. Because of my work schedule I could never get to the LGS in time to get ammo there, so was going to Wal-Mart after dark to get ammo. All they had there was $35, 20rd boxes of match grade Winchester .223. Due to the price I only bought 60 rounds there and used those to break the gun in. Shoot a few rounds, clean. Shoot a few rounds, clean. After that I said fuck it and just started shooting. Finally got to the LGS a couple weekends ago and they had $8, 20rd boxes of PMC x-tac 5.56 so got some of those. I'll get it sighted in once I go to a proper range and aren't just shooting logs in the woods.

Why not do a 6.5 Grendel or build a .308 "long range" AR?

Also yeah the stock sucks, get a sopmod.

Yeah, probably going to do .308. Sadly the range I shoot at most often is limited to 300yards. There is a gun club about a 40minute drive from me, but would have access to a 500yd range there.

Sadly unsure of where else I could go within an hour or two drive of me to reach out further.

In hindsight, I don't want pictures of my guns online.

I think I am going to have to implement by "bike building strategy" when getting a gun.

With a bike, i'll just get the parts I can afford until I got something built up. Start with this, get that, etc.

I need to decide 100% what gun I want and just start buying shit for it, then eventually get the actual gun. That way when I get the actual gun i'll have ammo, cc holster, cleaning kit, etc, etc.

My Ruger is fucked up, I need to get it fixed. If someone kicks in my door I am going to throw that heavy fucker like a tomahawk and grab my mallet.
