I think there were other Blues in the mix on here, but incase this was about me... I'm a wedding videographer these days, and whatever other photo/video stuff I can scare up in between. I haven't been able tor ide for a few years due to plenty of problems with my body and a few with my mind. Not sure what about me was less grown up than the rest of us were 15 years ago but I'm a few concussions deeper so I may just not remember... that is, if I'm even the Blue you were asking about.

Pretty obvious it was bluemeate he was referring to

well, clearly not to me.

Been here  since June 26, 2004, 11:00:00 AM

Had like a 8year hiatus from riding. Back on the bike.

Good to hear. Due to body problems and work I've been off for about 3 years. Fighting to get back on myself.

If you have a car then hopefully you can head down to Tampa on the weekends or something, Tampa has plenty of riders and stuff to ride.

If he was a top rider right now and came out he'd get roasted in social media, but probably not get dropped by sponsors. Back in the early 2000's though... I think he very easily could have had some contract not get renewed or have some brands feel like they were "going in different directions". He's a legend, and he seems to be at peace with it all and has a husband. Happy to see that.

Thanks Brett! I was pretty scared. 6 weeks later I'm walking pretty well and riding my single speed on a track stand. I am excited about riding this fall. I'm not done with bmx. Do you still have back problems?

The big issue I had is still well under control with some daily exercises. I do also have a bit of scoliosis which isnt helping matters right now, but I've got a good rehab dude that is helping get things under control. On the knee thing, I run a CTI with the MX knee pad and it's a bit bulky, but really feels nice. I know some studies suggest that knee braces may only prevent re-injury by 15%, but I'll gladly take any percent I can get.

Speaking of surgery. I blew out my knee this month. Had an MRI on Saturday and found out my acl was ruptured. I have surgery on the 11th.

I know there's lots of dudes who ride after acl surgery. Fuck though! I want to do more than bmx for the rest of my life.

I don't see the choice having to be made between "doing more than bmx for the rest of your life" or riding post-surgery. Unless it's some type of SUPER messed up or if you've got some hack doctor, I don't see why you can't have bmx and a life outside of bmx after surgery. I had to go through ACL surgery a few years ago and yeah the rehab is no fun, but I did it all as I was suppose to and now I can't feel any difference between before and after... other than that one nerve that have to cut to get in that leaves a little numb patch on the side of you lower leg... but it's rather inconsequential.

18 years, though the past 2.5 I've barely ridden due to surgeries, more injuries and work picking up. Hopefully I can get back into it more soon.

Last October I hit 15 years on the forum.  I am strictly a lurker now but I'm happy the forum is still alive!  I wonder if there is some way to resurrect pictures of my bloody shins I posted when I was learning to barspin at 15 years old.

Last October I hit 15 years on the forum.

I totally have you beat there.

No way! Never thought I'd read these names again! I haven't been on the site in forever, but every so often I check it. My account says 15 years too, but I'm pretty sure there were previous versions hosted elsewhere before this one... but only by a year or so I think.

For all the guys talking about animal, Part 2 is out: http://www.epictv.com/media/podcast/past-present-and-future-part-2-%7C-animal-bikes-/603366

It's not overly specific, but I can add to it that all is well again (and it wasn't for about a year) with the company and they are moving forward with restocking old product as well as new stuff.

Fuckin companies getting suites. No animal?

I thought Animal was done but this popped up and it's part one dealing with Animals "past". I guess part 2 is "present". looking forward the rest but hope part 3 "future" won't be Ralph saying "We're done".

While your part 1,2,3 for past, present and future makes perfect sense, There are only 2 parts. Part 2 is suppose to come out next tuesday or wednesday From what I was told by Epic, and I'll give you a spoiler: It does not end with Ralph saying that they are done.

carpal tunnel in both wrists and arthritis....worst part is when I feel my right arm vibrating/shaking up past my elbow (if that makes sense)

it really makes me angry to the point of crying/freaking out sometimes, especially when I'm working on really intricate equipment at work and my hands freeze up, resulting in me dropping wrenches/bolts/tools and having to start over again.

I try to do hand/wrist exercises and take little breaks when working. When I'm home my fiance has this eucalyptus/mint lotion that she rubs on my wrists when I need it and it helps. Tiger balm works well too.

I tried wearing braces but all that does is hinder me and piss me off. I want to get surgery, but couldn't due to my woman being out of work until just a few weeks ago. Once my credit cards are payed off and we have a few grand in savings in going to schedule surgery. Hopefully by Christmas.

I hope you get better soon, carpal tunnel fucking sucks.

Dang man, sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can get surgery soon and be better.

this may sound really stupid but drink alot of water!
i've had to deal with cts and tendosynovitis alot because of drawing/engraving all day and then riding bikes afterwards.

for about half a year now i am much better but still not fine.
wear large sweatbands when you go ride and do alot of physical work with your hands. it is really important to keep your joints and especially wrist warm not to abuse the tendonts!
also cts is related to kidney problems because first if your body is dehydrated (wich happens easyly when you go and ride) both your kidney and tendon sheaths are getting easyly damaged plus if you stell well hydrated your body is naturally "lubricated" and the friction in your sheaths and joints is lower. really is or at least seems to be. also for me helps is when i don't have to switch between fine motor work with my hands (like drawing etc.) and rough work and if i do so taking my time, GENTLY stretching alot and as i said drinking rediculous amounts of water.
also i am a bit addicted to rice milk and amazake lately and thought about it may being related with my hands being much better too...

so keep your wrist warm, when you ride and when you go to bed! because you body cools down at night and i used to have terrible cramps waking up at night. maybe use a warming cream, ginger-chili rub or similar from time to time.
drink water
and stretch.
then you shoul get alot better.

ah... and also eat alot of stuff that is generally good against any kind of inflammation, like garlic, ginger, fresh chili, etc.

best of luck and get well soon!

Thanks for all the help! I have increased my water intake and will keep with that. I will implement these other things as well. Lucky for me I'm in Florida so keeping warm with riding isn't a problem haha. Doc is doing some tests incase maybe it is a kidney or thirod issue. I'll find out next week.
