Damn really? Ive been using a Madera 22 mm spline sprocket with eclat tibias. I can only use LSD because it's a 2.5 piece crank design, but thats what I need anyway. Surprised the cult one isnt compatible because I was super close to getting that

That thing is light! Not sure how heavy MTB stems tend to be but compared to a BMX stem its light.

Based on the renderings it looks like a two bolt system, one from the side and one from the side. Could be two different versions but Im am interested to see how it is supposed to work.

I can only see one bolt in the renders.

yeah it's totally one. Plus they even put the "ONE bolt" description in caps

I know what you're saying! We are in one of the middle units, and on one of my sides we have total saints, but I wish we could say that about the other. One day the grandpa(not super old early 60s) started cleaning his winter car mats on my grass, and when I went to acquire as to what he was doing. He said he was just watering the grass. I said I saw everything and told him to keep his garbage on his property. After that, the wife (I'm guessing the grandpa's daughter) has never looked at us again and refuses to wave or say hi. Now here comes the worst part. The kid has this outdoor basketball hoop attached inside his garage on the side of the wall we share. In the summer it was fine, but now that its winter it is getting ridiculous. The stupid thing is, the ceiling isn't all that tall so the only thing this kid can really do is dunk. Every time he does you can hear it from any room in my house. It gets bad when he has friends over.

I would say falling off the curved wallride would be way way way way more likely to kill you than anything Gerber did. Except maybe that last frontflip.

curved bankride*   ;D

They put Shawn Macintosh's part up. He isn't smart, death is calling.

There's definitely an "oh shit, he might die" element to his riding that you don't get with say, Dugan...

...but I get the feeling you're talking about helmets, which no one except Van seems to be wearing on a regular basis.

Not specifically helmets, I'm not sure that would save him. He does that gap to nose manual on that dumpster wall thing. Fast and in the I'm going to fucking die position. I mean, logically you don't do that. Conclusion being, he's not smart.

With that logic you shouldn't do anything big. Actually, thats how most of the outside community that aren't into extreme sports view us. They automatically think you're dumb for throwing yourself at a wall/rail, even though in your mind it can feel like the easiest thing sometimes. It is understandable how people can view our activity as stupid, but I just wouldn't expect a person on this forum to say something like this.

Also he landed really back heavy in that clip, and wasn't in the "I'm going to die" vertical position. Not saying his riding didn't scare me also, but some people are just on another level.

I have one RBJ1, but it's not for sale. I use to have two then sold one, and regret it to this day. I seriously can't believe how I got my hands on these things when I was a kid.

I had to save up my lunch money for like a month before I could buy a used primo pro cassette, used spokes and used RBJ1(still looked decent with all the japan stickers and all). Then I had to save another week so i can get a bike shop to lace it for me. As you can imagine, they had a nightmare putting together a used wheel, but they got it done nicely.

Pretty uneventful like the last few years.

What is there to be eventful? BMX technology has economically peaked, there isn't really much point in spending money developing new technologies when the vast proportion of money coming in is based on trends. New colourways have a higher profit margin.

It baffles me that brands even bother attending these events.

Maybe it's to market their new trendy product or color-ways. Plus it does not look good on the companies image to not attend. For example Animal this year.

Does B. still post? That guy was such a dick to people. I loved it.

Weren't a lot of the original guys from around Alberta?

Don't worry, you are surely still the biggest dick out of the bunch.

Nobody said worse until you came along. They're saying annoyance.

Annoyance is still a negative trait, which mostly leads to a comparative conclusion of something being worse.

Bruised heel is the most annoying injury!

I had one of those once, but I'd argue that a broken collarbone on your dominant arm is worse.

fracture vs bruise... I wonder what is worse

How astute of you! They can still be compared

Don't you mean sarcastic. Actually most things can be compared, but doesn't mean they should be. For example, a whale and a mouse, or a car and a plane. In this case a fracture and a bruise.

Im sure if you broke your heel it would be as bad, if not worse than fracturing a collarbone on your dominant hand. Sure with a fractured collarbone it maybe hard to eat, sleep and wipe your ass, but using crutches to get around everywhere would suck. Id rather use my non dominant hand for my daily routine, rather than drastically loose mobility.

All injuries suck, but by saying yours was worse when people are expressing pain makes you a dick.

He "called him out" on stealing kids bikes from the Brooklyn Banks. Then completely agreed that it was okay to do this to get by. I just don't understand how you don't feel like a fucking idiot justifying this knowing a bunch of kids will watch this.

Not to defend a22, but he didn't agree with him he was just "understanding".

I find this sort of weird, as nigel is "advancing" the sport and getting all this money, they end up canceling bmx street in the x games. How come "street" is getting less support as nigel is getting more popular with the mainstream public? Maybe he is ruining the image?

Also it is totally acceptable to feel like he is undeserving of his status/support he is getting. It's more dumbfoundment, rather than jealousy. All I can say is it can't last long, but that's just my prediction. It is still cool that he can make a living out of bmx.

The Lounge / Old video help
« on: February 16, 2015, 07:41:30 PM »
This is probably a shot in the dark, but I have been feeling nostalgic and was thinking about old bmx videos that would get me really pumped. One comes to mind that I have almost forgot about completely, it had Matt Berringer and Mike Aitken in it. It was a concrete bowl contest video made by ridebmx, and Mike Aitken was flying around in a bright orange polo doing giant 270- 1 footed euro -to lookbacks. Aitken ended up winning and Matt Berringer was doing giant double pegs to fakie across the whole bowl. The bowl was giant and possibly in Utah. From around 2003-5
