The Lounge / BMX video part identification help - Neil Diamond edition
« on: December 06, 2017, 10:45:30 AM »
Afternoon folks, long time no BG.

There was a bmx video/dvd many moons ago, and someone had a part to Neil Diamond - Girl You'll be A Woman Soon, but I have no idea who or what it was and I'm hoping one of you smart folks might know? It was definitely a full video, as me and a pal can remember skipping it as we didn't like the song - because we skipped it we can't remember who it was.

Thanks boys

I've had the dreaded rear P for 16 months, and I fixed it today. But its now raining so I can't even go out and hurt myself :(

Still all the same. 19" hamilton (10 years old now, wew), odyssey freestyle forks, scerbo bars, redneck xlt, vandero2/hazlight/primo wall, bsd 165mm cranks, 30t mds with two guards, 48 ratchet/ribcage/primo wall, jcpc pedals and some dope real tree camo tape.

I can't really. Land maybe 1/10 on flat ground, but a bank barspin is never really a full 180 for me, so it's easier. And none of that going backwards shite to confuse me either. bank barspins are definitely my favourite type of barspins

The interviews are decent but that motherfucker was milking other people's videos to get page views way before he did any sort of original content.

And in the Big Daddy interview he admitted he "puts on a character for the kids". He sure as hell ain't Mirra so what character is he putting on based on his brands? Great message, as if the world needs more douche rockets following blindly.
word that shit is hilarious. watched all 9 of the daddy visions the other day and had a right ol' giggle. ALL THREE OF MY TRICEPS.
as if anyone thought big daddy actually acted like that for real. he was pretty funny when those daddy vision videos first came out (the bits where he was actually riding)

i miss eggits old bikechecks, dope mods on there for sure. shame they're not on the current server or whatever.

re jumps. i've honestly never ridden trails and therefore never understood trail beef. i think if they've been abandoned for 2 years, fuck em. You wanted to ride so you did what was necessary. It's not as if you've turned it into a bmx only skatepark, you just took what they left to rot and fixed it up. i dont see why they'd be mad about this?
fuck 26" in general, still sour towards people doing tricks on anything other than a bmx. dont get me started on FGFS

I almost agree with OP, every fucking edit i watch there's a side on view of the bike and the OSS star or whatever the fuck has their handlebars like 20degree forward. the fuck is with that. i tried it before and all it did was make my dick hurt. i dont understand how people ride this shit.

also despite his riding being dope as fuck, charlie crumlish has the most ugly bike in bmx. its almost worse than a renault megane with the big bum. fucking disgrace.

bmx is gay lol

Alcoholism? Isn't he like 20 or some shit? Don't most people get fucked up around that age? I get how you can not like a blog but I don't get how you can say it ruined bmx. Did MTBr or Pinkbike save mountain biking?
My thoughts exactly. I'm sure I saw a post by Adam a few months ago saying he was still buying Stevie's beer because he wasn't old enough. I very much doubt Stevie is an alcoholic in the fact that he relies on it otherwise he gets the good ol' shakes, it's just that he drinks a fair bit more than he should given his age. Fuck it, he's young, let him party.

I don't care much for adam/OSS. I check thecomeup maybe once a week because it's nice that most watch-worthy bmx videos are all in one place, but I ignore all the childish shite that comes with it like I imagine most of us (other than Rusty) do too.

That's a point, ol' Rustin, whats your input on Stevie being a liquor fien given you work/ed at OSS or whatever?
PRO TIP: Use Gramfeed.com/xxxxxxx for viewing Instagram on a comp.
Godsend
So true about the comments on PC. For fuck's sake how do you fuck up cross-platform accessibility in 2015...

How's things anyway Mr Baker?
Yeah not bad thanks. I started riding again (rarely) after a solid 6 months without. I'm telling myself I'll stick with it this time but I guarantee there will be another hiatus aha/
I might spray my bike this week and post some pictures.

Surely I cant be the only one who saw this?

Sharkmartin (Jeff Martin I think?) hates Adam22, got drunk and made an IG post explaining this. Follow 600 comments talking about what BMX is really about, and who's to blame for Stevie Churchill's apparent alcoholism. Fucking lol

I can't work out how to link a post from PC based instagram, but it's this one

instagram.com/sharkmartin, 3rd post in. A lot of dumb kids posting, but if you can be fucked to scroll to the top there's some typical OSS/Adam22 gold

So they brand stuff as Abikeco in the UK?

Correct. Animal, that clothing company already existed over here and there was some beef over the name as far as I'm aware.

Animal = Abikeco

I just wanna say I wish socket drive had existed from day one. I ran the flatare twombolts (160mm) with both a flatware socket drive sprocket and a zodiac socket drive sprocket for about 18 months* and it worked an absolute treat. I'm extremely talented at bashing cranks/sockets into things and it never once gave me any issues.

If I ever buy new cranks (unlikely) they will be socket drive for sure.

*ground through the world on LH arm, got scared and bought bsd cranks (short an sweet)

do JCPC replacement bodies come with nuts and bolts for the pins? if not what have others done to replace theirs?

they don't. i had bare spare nuts/bolts from when i got the whole pedals as i only run one side with pins for grindage. they're a common size and i imagine most hardware stores would have some
