drew's "madmax" 240 is powered by a mildly-built (mostlystock) ka24. the cars mostly impractical although he claims its used for downhill-drift type events. its not too much different than letting a perfectly good veedub rust on purpose

they're FF so it would be like the same as getting an accord (which i would rather do if i had to choose between the two).

subaru impreza rs, infiniti g20 (p10 or p11), or sentra se-r (b13) are starting to be the finalists

Let me re-phrase my answer since I missed a few key points.  :bustin:

Lets pick high end Japanese, with a legendary bulletproof motor, low miles, not too old, and for $6k...

You're asking for a Supra for $6k.

Luxury Japanese comes at a cost, motors like that are few and far between, low miles cost money, newer costs money. You have Supra tastes on a Honda budget, stick to your Honda or be prepared to give up a few requirements.

i have 4k now and should be getting at least 6k from the civic (selling because i want a less "targeted" car for thieves and problems keep coming up on this thing). if i could afford a clean gs400 i would not doubt get one but the automatic only is kind of a drag. a b13 is a possibility but its damn hard to find clean ones and the se-r only came in a coupe (not too big a deal but prefer a sedan).

i really want two cars, a nice luxury-ish sedan and a miata. but since two cars is not an option i need to combine the convenience and ergonomics of the sedan with the fun of the miata

edit: i forgot about my other choice, the impreza rs2.5 sedan. i doubt ill find one though

eh, a little too old for me. im lookin at like 95 and up

if i could afford an is300 that would be the winner, but sadly i cant.

god damn honda, why couldnt you do everyone and yourself a favor and make the prelude rwd

so who wants to find me my next car?

requirements:

-sedan
-Japanese
-any drive train layout (awd/rwd/fwd)
-preferably older "boxy styling" but something i can get with lower mileage (under 125k)
-Option of going turbo on stock motor and ability to handle it (sr20de basically, but other types too)
-not mitsu

basically i want a galant vr4 but am not a fan of mitsubishi at all, bascally because of the talon/eclipse. i have also been looking at the infiniti g20t but its hard to find a 95-96 with under 150k miles even. car should be luxury or nice interior styling for its age and not a something you see everywhere (i wan the exact opposite of what i have now i think)

$6000 spending limit

4 pipes are needed just as much as a 3in exhaust on a little 4 banger. It's not.
this isnt exactly true because a guy with a kswapped civic dyno'd with a 2.5" exhaust then changed it out for a 3" the same day and dyno'd it and got some decent gains. it was something like 10-20 whp which isnt much but for an all motor car it is.
