i made bad experience with x-rays.
took a huge bag full of film with me, in my carry-on bag, mostly kodak and fuji 400 colour film and some t-max400 on a short distance flight inside europe. (i believe the security checks in europe are way weaker than in the us.)
but anyway nearly every film has that typical x-ray damage in wave form. even the unexposed rolls that i exposed a few months after the x-ray treatment still got that wavy pattern albeit not that strong as the already exposed films.

at first i planned to buy that pentax but its weight freightened me a bit although i never held one in my hand.
but the mamiya is so light and compact, exactly what i wanted.
just the battery is annoying which is dead after 3h of exposure. that's pretty awkward for nightshots.

i already love this thing. everything is so much faster on it compared to the 500cm. and the sutter is super quiet.

pairs of nike running shoes, check. leica, check.
back to the m6 classic. i like the bessa better cough.... cough...... maybe i'll sell it and buy two bessas.

what bessa is it, john? i want a nice but not too expensive rangefinder, too, because i don't like the canonet very much...

the new 500cm... it came with a prism finder which i'll sell, so it was really a bargain.

i have to add i was out shooting it today and it felt awesome. it's really no compare to an xa, even if there's no shutter sound at all. i can imagine that it is possible to get sharp photos even with 1/4s. awesome.

that was also the reason why i bought it.
i really like it 'til now but it's my first day with it so i can't say much about it. it's pretty compact and i love the rf focusing. the screen is much brighter than that of the xa and makes focusing totally easy. but the annoying things are:
1. the lightmeter is always working and you have to put the lenscap on to "turn it off"
2. i already wasted a few frames because of forgetting to take the cap off the lens
3. it uses a 1.35V mercury cell that isn't sold anymore, so you have to get an adaptor which is about half the price i paid for the camera.

now i'm just excited to see the results.
