Title: Rules for this forum
Post by: sheepdog on June 22, 2006, 06:11:47 PM
Rules:

Your bike needs _____.
If all you have to say is "you should change ___" , "it sucks because it has ____ parts", "your seat is too high", "bars too wide", or similar, shut the fuck up and do not post.  It is their bike, not yours. Trend Police are not welcome and are subject to a temp banning to be determined by mods/admins. Normally 10 days minimum. You have been warned. BMX is not about conforming to someone elses standards.

Bumping.
Do not bump other peoples threads. You coudl be banned.
Do not bump your own thread. It will be deleted and/or you could be banned.
If a thread falls down, obviously it is no longer interesting. Suck it up. You are not special and do not deserve special treatment. If no one wants to see your bike, no one wants to see your bike.

Use the f'ing SEARCH function.
That is why we have a search.
If you post a thread saying post bikes with ____ parts, you may be banned.
If it is something like "brakeless" or "Wide bars", which does not show up in parts lists or something, that is acceptable to make a post asking.

Flaming
Gets you banned here, just like any place else.
Definition of flaming... (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flame_war)

Image size and type
If you use the attachments, the system will resize them for you.
If you link someplace else and theya re 5 times my screen size, your thread may be deleted. Also, get a clue, BMP files should NOT be used. There are tons of programs that can convert them to png, jpg and gif. These are about 1/10 the file size of bmp files.

Thread titles.
Try to make the relevant. And no cussing.

Creating multiple threads / Friends bikes / Pros Bikes
Don't do it.  We do not care.

I think its ok to post them as long as you don't start a new thread..Just add it in your old bikecheck thread..Wait for sheep to confirm about this tho..

So does this mean that the Bike Gallery is here to stay? Or is it still being considered?

What do I care about what someone I do not even know rides?

As for pros, most people are just copying them from another source.

Either way it seems like post whoring.

i dont think anyone cares what do i ride initialy nor knows me, but i post my bikecheck anyway. so does like 90% of people on this site. Its not like someone says "i want to see what xxxblablaxxx's bike looks like.." but you dont mind seeing his bikecheck when he puts it up. i hope you get my point...

If it is above an inch over your stem, you should be shot.

Actually, that is exactly what I do.

Usually because they asked a question in the bike shop about something.

Mine gets posted because otherwise I get asked too often what I ride.

You can post whatever bike you want.  If it's not BMX though just expect a lot of lame jokes and people trashing on you.

i think people should drop the fuckin pathetic titles they give each bikecheck.its like theyre constantly trying to one-up each other, just giving them the dumbest names.

would also make searching for various bikes a hell of alot easier so you dont come back with 35,000 posts that include the word"FIT" but in turn could search the titles and come back with ACTUAL bikes.

like "my 05 fly pantera"..not some gay artsy,im so untrendy "a bike of woe"

Seriously. Could people stop posting their bikes and the write "Ask for part list". I mean why don't you just post it? You know someone will ask and then you'll have to write it anyway.

Probably just wait it out, I don't remember anything like this happening when I signed up, but that was some time ago.

Ok

Read the rules, did everything .. Now it's the second time I try to post my bikecheck.

I find it kinda weird that I see new checks coming up every day but mine isn't.

Did I do something wrong ?

New to the forums.

You're doing something wrong... I searched for posts under your name and I don't show any new threads started at all.

Are you doing this: Bike Gallery > New topic > Type the post > Submit thread ?

Did you verify your email address because you cannot start new threads until you have.

Do bikechecks threads have to be accepted by the admin or did I make a mistake, when I submitted my bikecheck?
