Yea and that's without the brake mounts for an extra $15

Is that normal stand over height? Or wax that the s3 with low seat tube?

This standover is a little taller than the s3. According to Fit, the s3.5 has an 8.25 SO

I got one, 21’’ in tan. Beautiful frame with die cut stickers. I’ve had a hell of a time getting the backend straight though, it pulls real hard to the drive side when you even slightly tighten the bolts, it’s like it’s off or something.

The dropouts might not be parallel at hub width. Are you running a hub guard that takes up more (or less) axle than the hardware it's replacing?

Does Fit make a hub guard that does this that it might have made their frame wider than 110mm for perhaps? Like when FBM and Profile made stuff that wasn't 110mm and caused this problem (and was responsible for some of the notorious Profile hub wobble)

No hubguard, odyssey Antiguan with 3/8s axle. I just bought those Simple wheel slammers, it did the trick perfectly for chain tension, the wheel is still pulled towards the drive side. I sold a T1 SFA for this frame! Whatever...bike check tomorrow

I almost posted this in hopes dick would see this and buy another one, considering I still have his old frame.

That being said, they didn't re-release them in 20.5, kids these days all run longer frames?

Are the wheel slammer things on the outside of the dropouts?

Is your wheel dished?

Yes. And yes. The wheel slammed perfect on a 13.75 backend running a 27-9 ratio. I normally don’t even buy a frame unless I can slam the backend. Now with this frame and 3mm simple spacers and a 25-9, the wheel won’t sit straight. Even without the spacers the wheel pulls extremely hard to the right when I tighten it down. Never seen this on an aftermarket frame 17 years of riding. And believe me I’m a nerd about bike stuff.

I think you meant to say your wheel ISN'T dished homie ;>

Pop it in a truing stand and check

The reason it does it with or without the slammers is that the hub is squaring itself up with the dropout. The only reason I inquired about them was to make sure they weren't inside the dropouts, causing the OLD to be too wide for the dropouts to be parallel. A 14mm axle in this case would typically actually bow in order to have the locknuts (instead of the wheel itself) square up (coning-out the bearing seats over time and causing hub wobble), but you are running a 17mm

I've seen plenty of frames (including $$$ custom jobs) do this and don't doubt that the frame could be to blame, I am just trying to help you diagnose it

BTW, just for your and others' information, "13.75" is just there for somewhat roundness and/or compliance with completely-wrong gear charts and the like (including Bg's), it would have been 13.6" in reality. It's a silly convention that has caught people out in the past (like jonathon) when you get a frame that actually IS 13.75" and your 13.6"-slamming gear ratio and chain length is suddenly too short :<

I’ll stick to my screenshot of Fit’s chain length guide (put together by leading industry experts!) that has served me with perfectly slammed backends with outstanding chain tension with my last 6 or 7 frames. But thank you for your expert opinions professor! I’m glad my posts prompted you to insert your backend knowledge on a dying forum.

I wonder why your frame is 13.65" then

xD

I tried pushing it, running a 28/9. Sooooo close. So I got the 3mm spacers putting the backend at 13.768, and I’m ok with.

13.768" is right, 13.65" + 3mm

Your wheel *looks* centered in your bike check, did you manage to get it all working OK?

It’s off, the picture doesn’t quite do it justice. And I will eventually have brakes on it, I wish it was centered. And before I bought those spacers, it was fucking hell even getting it slightly straight. It would just pull extremely hard to the right. I’m ok, it’s a nice frame and faster geo than my SFA.

Sounds like the wheel is dished one side. I only say that because that happened to me. I had a new wheel built and even though the thing was pin straight, it still pulled to the right every time I tightened the bolts no matter how hard I tried to keep it center. Brought it back to the shop and had them fix it and it sits perfect now every time.

and could be much more likely to be dished to the side if you have uneven flanges and an inexperienced wheel builder

back on topic tho, its cool to see fit doing a re-pop of these frames. brings back the nostalgia. actually just watched mikey's part in Anthem 2 last night!

Fit is actually raffling off the bike Mike used in Anthem II, each time you buy an aitken sticker sheet, you get one ticket.

I hope they do more Aitken stuff in the future. Like re-release his signature Trans-Am shirt he had back in like 2003.

Dish has been checked, wheel is trued, it’s the frame. At this point I don’t care, I’m having fun on this thing
