Are you a slacker or a shredder? Fess up before the bad cop comes back
-
Yesterday. Before that it was in October when I got injured. The plan is to stay healthy and get back to shredding this spring.
-
I rode on Sunday. Before that it had been probably about 2 weeks since the weather has been raining constantly here.
-
Blew out my acl in mid November. Hopefully I can start carving around bowls by August.
-
Besides a couple minutes of easy pedalling, end of December. I tore an ab muscle the next week and have been sitting on my ass since then.
-
This past Sunday. Might go pedal around today, waiting for the park to reopen here in Chico.
Grindline is remodeling it.
-
Took a couple laps at swampfest. Now I’m back in Texas with rainy, cold weather :( Trail season soon though!
-
before christmas. bike will probably stay in the garage for a few more months. don't have kids
-
Fucked up my arm in the trails a year ago. Sold my bike.
Now my main hobby is just seeing how big of a butt plug I can fit up my arse.

Hop the fence, it kicks ass!
-
I rode the flatland bike I got from Paranoid Mexican yesterday but it still needs a few things then I'll do a bike check.. plus I gotta use the wheels for my SF trip this weekend so I can shred it.
-
Last sunday.
I plan on riding all weekend. Sold my freecoaster to the hype kids I am now missing it.
-
Early January when I went on a trip. Moved to Oslo and the cold winter made me start cross country skiing rather than ride. Only indoor streetcourses here and I only ride bowls/bigger ramps, so Im waiting for spring.
-
Today, I rode the to the park. Tony Hawk was randomly in town to checkout the new bowl grindline put in.
I fucking missed him by a few minutes, so I went and grinded a ledge spot on my way home.

This is him front blunting the deep end.

Last month before re-breaking my elbow doing a stupid 180 in a parking lot. Landed the 180 but my arm twisted fast and sharp reverting out of the 180 and felt a pop. X-Ray showed I broke the bone at the original site from the summer. Broke my elbow the first time racing when I looped out manualing a double. Plate with some screws has her more secure than the pins and wire the first time around. Hopefully i can pump around by the summer. Ordered a new frame though. Custom Pedal Driven :D

last year in the spring
-
Got myself a decent 26in jump bike after christmas, despite 20 something years of trying I've never been particularly comfortable on my bmx in the air, this is rad as hell though, can confidently huck it all over with little regard to landing with any finesse. Been riding the local indoor parks a few times a week recently, off to finale ligure in italy next week on the proper mtbs too, should be good.
-
Been about 2 weeks now, I came back from a San Francisco trip and have had alot of physical issues.. so I've done a ton of work to my flatland bike, taken apart two wheels, built two wheels and trued two wheels.. I'm hoping to do a ton of work to my main bike tomortow and Friday then get out and ride my ass off this weekend.
-
Yesterday. Rode a little skatepark here in Reno.
-
I rode my model C a few weeks ago when it was in the 50's. Haven't touched my aitken 3.5 since last summer easily.
-
2017
-
I miss riding so much.
-
Besides a couple minutes of easy pedalling, end of December. I tore an ab muscle the next week and have been sitting on my ass since then.
Update:
I reinjured the same area so I have a CT scan next week to determine what's next. Either keep sitting on my ass with no riding, or surgery and then recovery with no riding. Either way no bikes for me for the next month or two.
-
Last year was a write off, a stupid crash ended up with a broken rib and hand. Then I ended up with a frozen shoulder so been going physio for that, and finally had a septoplasty (nose) in February, fingers crossed everything is ok now, was on the bike Sat and Sun with no major complaints other than my general fitness. Shoulder might take 2 years to be right but doesn't seem to affect me on the bike.
-
I slipped the othe day and think I tore something in my knee. Getting an appointment with my orthopedic dude next week to see if this acl replacement is botched.
-
I've not ridden since last Easter. Each year I ride less and less in the (southern hemisphere) summer and now I too have a rooted knee
-
I sat in a house with ac all day yesterday
the day before that I sat at moms house in the morning and the skatepark in the afternoon
I rode the skatepark a couple times the hours while I was there, scaring myself with big sketchy air outs and bowl lines every non-warmed-up run. they were big and fast and great but felt sketchy cuase I'm fucked up and sitting on my ass all day.
I pulled an elbow muscle during one of the runs and am wondering if I should ride or not. I shouldn't Becaise I rolled my ankle 8days ago bit as long as I don't land sketchy, right? airplane landings. yeah that day I set up a huge kicker to upledge to flat that I shouldn't hit due to my ankle but duck it , I airplane landed that shit
-
sat around at a moms house*
hahaha

we drank beer in my garage and talked about bikes, does that count? lmao
-
I've been look at BMX brad sites trying to catch up with what parts are out there now, does that count? :0

Update again: CT scan showed no remaining injury so physical therapy should get me past the current pain. Meaning... I might actually ride a bike this month. I really fucking hope so.
-
landed a new trick today. Manuel to rock and roll a big quarter and the other day I learned how to Manuel-tireslide over a small parking block spine
-
I wish I could properly manual
-
After a solid 3 year hiatus I started again, then pulled my back really bad and haven’t in months. Trying to start up again here soon though.
-
I rode bmx from the early '90s as a teenager until i was about 30. I lived in San Antonio for most of my 20s where there were endless fun ditches to ride and some good bmx friends. I was really into photography as well, which was half my motivation.
About ten years ago i got the itch to explore moutain bike trails and bought a used steel singlespeed mountain bike with a rigid fork. Those are built like a bmx bike but certainly don't handle like them. I started riding that more and more, started working in a bike shop, and left the bmx bike at home more often.
I moved to Atlanta, where I was surrounded by awesome mtb trails and mtbers to ride with, and surprisingly few bmx spots and riders. I sold my bmx bike and put the money into mtb stuff.
I was in ATL for three years before moving back to Texas. Austin is now my long term home and I thought I would enjoy riding bmx a lot more after moving here. I got a good deal on a used Premium bike and only used it a few times, then sold it. The magic was just gone. When I tried to ride bmx again this time, it was only fun for about an hour. When I am out on the mtb trails, the only things that bring me home are adult responsibilities or utter exhaustion.
At 36 years old, I think my body would have little trouble getting back into bmx, but it's just not as fun for me as ripping around the dirt and rocks on big, bouncy tires (29er, singlespeed, rigid fork most of the time).
I would consider getting a 26" DJ bike for pump track and skatepark flowin. I will have to borrow one sometime. My office is right around the corner from the Walnut Creek BMX pumptrack.

For you aging riders with back issues: strengthen your core!!! Start with planks. See if you can do 30 seconds facing down, left, and the right. If you can, do reps. Increase the time you hold it. That's part of what my chiro made me do and it helped a TON.
-
Went out yesterday for the first time in around 3 years. I can still feeble and smith downledges in shitty skateparks, muscle memory is still there but everything is much more physically exhausting.
-
Yesterday.
Been riding way more than ever the past year or two. Something "clicked" this winter (rode indoor parks 1-2 times a week which has never happened any winter before) and now I have more bike control than I ever did? Wish that happened years ago so I'd actually be good by now.
-
Six years now. Have been contemplating coming back before it's too late to.
-
I tell a lie - I did ride from work and then to work the next day when my car was at the shop last June and rode for 10mins in the yard at work after setting up some pallets with the fork lol
Just got back from a ride then. Couldn't ride flat for shit but the 2 wheel stuff still works
-
Finally getting some rideable weather here in WY and all I want to ride is my road bike and my fatbike. The BMX is getting very little love.
-
Other than pedaling around in front of the house, I haven't ridden BMX in over a year. I think I went on two rides on the big bike last summer.
-
About 3 years ago I guess. I've probably ridden (as in spending a few hours doing tricks) under 10 times in the last 5 years.
However, I just ordered a new rear wheel and a bunch of other parts and I'm actually really psyched to start riding again!
-
Dabbling is where it's at
-
have a niece just about tall enough to start to learn riding bikes, i may buy some 16" or 18" wheels for mine so we can both try something new together
incidentally, the trick to being a kid's favourite uncle is to kill all the other ones before they get to interact with them
-
What a shitty ordeal ruptured acl has been. I was given to go ahead to start riding bmx again by my pt dude in September. I ride my ss about 7 miles/day and it feels pretty strong. However, bailing or putting your foot down is something I’m really scared of.
-
i've only ridden a small handful of times this year. new house, new baby, and a hyper toddler prevent me from having much time to myself. there's a new bike only park being built so maybe once it's ready i'll try to ride at least once a week

I just got my 2 year old a push bike, can't wait to start going on neighborhood cruises
-
I still ride pretty much every day.
-
I rode a week ago and pulled a muscle in my back. Been off any type of bike since. Normally I still try to ride the BMX once or twice a week at least.
-
I get out on the Bmx once a month. It’s more to catch up with mates than riding.
Get out on the road bike even less than that. I’m going to work hard to get out more regularly on the big big this coming summer
-
Rye Airfield shut down a couple years ago so I stopped having an opportunity to ride often in these shitty New England winters, and put on like 20 pounds. Started going to the gym a couple weeks ago for the first time then rode a bit on Saturday, and it kicked my ass way more than ever. Trying to get back in shape for the spring, my hops have gone from bar height to tire height. Bike is in the best condition ever and I'm at my worst lmao
-
I get out once or twice a month. Did a little manual on Saturday I was relieved to finally do after going to it 3 other times.
