seems like all the folding tires I've ran have problems with the bead. well I've only run microknobbies really, and they all seem to be wonky and wobbly. my rim is definitely straight and there's definitely big lumps and imperfections on the tire.
iirc someone said this was an inherent problem with most all Kevlar tires?
any info? any remedy's?
-
I can't be sure, but I feel like a different tire might be the solution.

Are they seated properly?

i mean what tire is anywhere near as awesome/similar to the microknobbie? im about to get a markweb khe tire for the front. im worried about traction on dirt, tho :o

how do i assure the tire is seated properly? the other stiffer tires seem to seat just fine

vittoria makes litewate 20in tires, yes? i cant really find any info about them on their site nor can i find any USA retailers. anyone have info on these tires?
-
I think they might be more wobbly at lower PSI due to them not being as structured as wire-bead tyres. I always run my folding tyres at max PSI. Lower than max PSI and they wobble when I ride vert or bowls.

The thickness of the wall will make it feel squishy, not the bead. The reason those or most tyres are light is because there is a fuck all meat on them. Try some regular weight tyres.

Demolition Momentum are pretty light for wire bead tires. Dans has their weight listed at 19oz for the 2.2" which is pretty light and you get to ride tires that are up for the job unlike the racing tires you're always having trouble with.

A folding bead will probably save you 30g per tire, if that. The fact that it has a kevlar bead shouldn't affect how "wobbly" it is.
