Title: Fort MacMurray
Post by: streetStreet on May 05, 2016, 10:23:28 AM
A whole town of 88000 was evacuated and is burning in Northern Alberta.

I know there are people from Alberta on here so I hope those potentially affected are alright.

A coworker of mine is currently stranded north of there, waiting on evacuation instructions. Definitely scary stuff.

Last I read, no one was killed or even injured, and I hope that hasn't changed as of now.

If 50% of my facebook feed is to be believed, this is all Trudeaus fault.

I don't get the correlation even respectable people in my feed have somehow twisted their ideology and treat trudeau's actions as worse. What the fuck does helping refugees even have to do with wildland forest fires anyhow. Money isn't going to put the fire out, it's always the people in the ground that do.

Makes me chuckle how people are super upset about him not going to visit Fort Mac. What the hell is he even going to do while he's there? Photo-ops? Get in the way?

Whatever, glad to hear that things are looking up for them at the moment, and the temps are dropping, the fire is slowing. Good news all around.

You guys hear about the 5 year old kid from Whitby who raised over $2500 for the Red Cross? Absolutely unreal.

They probably just want him to die from smoke inhalation...
