Title: S̶l̶o̶w̶ Fast and Steady Wins the Race
Post by: The Outsider on June 27, 2015, 07:46:10 PM
Built up my new Steadfast last night and got to ride it this morning. Last frame was a Broadcaster with 13" rear end and 75* head tube, almost forgot how much more I like these longer rear ends and slacker head tubes. Also, first time I've had chain tensioners in a decade, mainly since I ditched the pegs. Makes life way easier. Waiting for brake cable to arrive to put on my beloved brakes.

Lovely.

Are you sure brakes are going to clear the chain with that gear ratio?

Looks good to go. I've heard that 25/9 fits with flush bolts/brakes but I've never ridden 25/9.

Thanks everyone, I'm definitely psyched with it. Every FBM I've ever owned seems to put one hell of a smile on my face.

Can you get some photos of the stem area? I kind of want one those stems but feel they're a bit overbuilt.

Stem rules! Lots of machining on the inside, classic look on the outside. PMA!

I'm a Tripod believer.

I've been having too much fun with this bike. Been riding it as often as work and life allows. Already had to ditch the chain tensioners (I run my bolts tight and the aluminum was just too soft) and toss the Plegs and guards back on. The 39" Quik Slic from the last bike was too short on this CS brake bike and have been using the 44" Tree w/ Eclat hanger. Awesome!

Biggest improvement in BMX technology goes to Odyssey and their rim stickers. Sat down and got ready for the huge hassle rim stickers on laced wheels usually are. I'd been putting it off for a while. Stickers seemed to be precut and immediately came off. No glue residue remained. Mind=blown. My OCD thanks Odyssey!
