People who stopped coming to dig at our trails over a year ago are complaining that we don't dig anything small enough for them to enjoy. Three of us have spent the last three months building 'the girl line' for them, they all knew we that we are building it for them and none of the them have come to help.
I want to chop people's fucking heads off with my new lidl shovel. Dry guys

Went and checked out the trails yesterday and noticed they got the tarps off already. Going to need a week of sunny, warm and windy days to dry things up though. A bit sloppy out there right now.

I keep tossing around the idea of getting a bike again. Goliath has one for sale right now in the Canada classifieds for a pretty dang good deal (if what I remember from BMX part value is still accurate). But I don't have anyone to ride with anymore.
My (limited) time spent at the trails was always a good time. Although now that I'm old enough to buy booze and I don't need to pedal an hour across town to get to the trails might make it that much better.

We've got three take offs to build and our new hip line will be done for summer. Someone's optimistically mentioned taking the bikes up there this weekend but the tarps have been on since October and it's likely they're sloppy too!

I had a couple parking infractions from San Francisco the other week. I went to pay them online and nothing. Called and there is no record of that ticket or any for my license plate. I like to think it was because the meter maid couldn't figure out what car it was as all the boxes for make model are blank.

i think states decriminalizing/legalizing marijuana is all a ploy for the federal government to come in one day and go on a spree of raids and confiscations in order to seize property and possessions to generate revenue. colorado (and the states that follow) will generate a whole bunch of revenue for now, and then the federal government will come through and take theirs in one foul swoop. win-win for big government.

Man, I was riding the other day and toothbonked a rail but shit went wrong and I ate shit. I didn't hit my head and I was wearing my helmet at any rate. All the same I saw those little flashy floaters like neurons dying or something. I've had this real shitty headache and I made a quick correlation to that. The real responsibilities probably lay with being awake right now and subsisting on 6ish hours of sleep the last couple weeks. That, or not drinking coffee Sunday or Monday and having a couple strong ones today.

Like I menioned, I recorded fuck all of the week long trip. Most of the time was spent on the beach drinking so I didn't feel like carrying around a backpack for my camera and shit just for me to probably lose it along the way. One of the better things I think about being vegetarian is when you burp up food. Like I can do that and its a piece of onion from a burrito. That's cool, its the same as when I swallowed it. Doing that with some partially masticated beef? NO.

I can't be completely sure, but I fear the release of a piece of pork a couple hours by way of a belch is much different than the vegetable component of the burrito I ate. My brother spilt a giant cranberry vodka all over my laptops keyboard a few weeks back and somehow it still works. I even continued to use it since I was also drunk. Just has some sticky keys but everything works fine. Amazed!

I was on a geology trip, looking at shit in the abandoned mines of Northern Nevada and staying in the shit holes like that dork that was stoked on his mustang and wearing ambercormbie(I forget his moniker). I had my clothes, food, and laptop in my bag slumming it in some shitty casino when a security guard kicked my bag exploding one of those tetrapak containers that soy milk comes in. Don't you mean sarcastic. Actually most things can be compared, but doesn't mean they should be. For example, a whale and a mouse, or a car and a plane. In this case a fracture and a bruise.
Im sure if you broke your heel it would be as bad, if not worse than fracturing a collarbone on your dominant hand. Sure with a fractured collarbone it maybe hard to eat, sleep and wipe your ass, but using crutches to get around everywhere would suck. Id rather use my non dominant hand for my daily routine, rather than drastically loose mobility.
All injuries suck, but by saying yours was worse when people are expressing pain makes you a dick.

bonedeth (burns, dean, albie) came to houston this weekend. skatepark jam saturday/street ride sunday. went to the park jam. it was ok. little contests/product toss by the local bike shop. the bonedeth guys didn't really talk to anyone or ride much. their filmer was interested in my bike though. Just got the news one of my brothers mates drowned kayaking in Slovenia there a few days ago. Sucks as another friend of his drowned the same way less than 5 months ago. Both are with my brother in the same class in college. Stay safe out there dudes!

That's made me a little nervous as I spent the past few days on a long weekend Kayaking along the coast of Koh Kood with my missus, neither of us with life jackets and I was the only one with a paddle, I feel like my confidence has now been misplaced.

Definitely not. We're all going to die at some point. Better to go out doing something you enjoy rather than being so depressed you don't see any other option other than taking your own life.

Can I ask how they got into trouble?
Both were whitewater kayakers. First dude was out after a week of solid heavy rain here in Ireland and the higher water hid some nasty tree roots. They just found him upside down in his kayak after noticing him missing and tried to resuscitate but he was gone already.
Very similar with the second guy as the group noticed him missing and found his kayak capsized with him in it. I believe he had his arm stuck in a rock.
Both in an outdoor recreation course and they're all very experienced kayakers and everyone knows CPR so it's not like it was a group of novices out.

I work full time and do my masters after-hours/weekends. Government gives us 2 weeks paternity leave paid at the minimum wage and I also negotiated extra time with my employer directly. Mothers get 18 weeks leave, pay can be negotiated with employer and you also get a certain amount from the government depending on your circumstances.

Been there. I still have a couple years left to pay off the GTI and not having that nice paying job kinda blows when the payment is due but I definitely enjoy having the car and also enjoying being home now. Will be a sweet day when it's paid off, kinda wish I would've done a longer financing option now but it is it what it is.

Just makes me feel a bit silly for buying a brand new car, and not being able to play with it all the time. But, like you said, can't wait for it to be paid off. I ended up going with 6 years since my finance rate was 0.99% and it didn't make much difference in interest between a shorter term and a longer term. What was yours?
The other thing I'm considering is putting off school for another year, then I can for sure have it paid off, be able to pay for school up front and hopefully still have a bunch of money saved up so I won't need to work. Although I'm already wanting to change my major, so we'll see if I can do that and still defer my acceptance for a year.
Also, fuck living out of hotels. Getting so tired of not being able to cook my own meals. I've put on about 40 pounds since August from constantly eating out. Although, the amount of beer I've been consuming probably doesn't help.

It's cool for a while but like you said, it's such a pain to actually make your own food so you just go for the easy option and eat out. And then you're bored as fuck sitting in a hotel night after night so you just booze it up to make shit a little entertaining. It's definitely cool for a while but it takes its toll on ya'.

Billy, kind of, still a reservist, but given that I'm on the road so much, I don't nearly make the commitment I used to (1 or 2 evenings a week, and up to 3 weekends a month) now I'm lucky if I show up for one evening a month. However, I am in a bit better shape than I have been in recent years despite the weight gain. Stopped smoking so my lungs are feeling a lot better and my cardio is getting back up to what I feel it should be.
Alex, no shit eh? Last year I was working with 2 other guys and we made a genuine effort to have 3 or 4 "home cooked" meals a week. If the hotel had a barbecue, we'd grill up some meat, make a salad and have some apps while we were cooking. We'd also have a few beers during the process. Luckily my job involves a lot of walking, so I don't think I've put on the weight I should be putting on. The problem right now is that my coworker and I have a bit more experience than the other guys in our department (or we may just be slightly more dependable, pick one) so we got put onto a bit of a different project where the work has to be done a bit more precisely, so we spend about 10 hours in the field each day, then another 4 at the hotel going over the data we collect, processing it and then preparing for the next day so time is also a factor in that.

Lastly, I haven't flamed Cole for a while; 40 pounds is heaps you fat fuck. I put on about 8 kg last time I had a lot of travel, have lost 10 kg since January.

Haha, healthy options for take out... Yeah, if you want to eat at a Subway or Pita Pit every day. Not a clear spirits kind of guy, especially with the amount of micro breweries around the places we work in. Also, good on ya for losing weight ginger. However, what's a lot of travel to you? I've worked in 5 different provinces in less than 10 months, driving back and forth. My last big trip was driving 3700 km non-stop. I seriously doubt you put in a 90 hour week consistently with around 20 hours of driving each week. When you do, let me know how difficult it is to live a perfectly healthy lifestyle. I've quit smoking, so the rest of the healthiness will come eventually.
However, I feel like coming from about 150 pounds at around 6 feet tall, and going to about 190 is more like filling out, but ok.

I don't know, the cognitive behavioral therapy sessions I was going to, my issue is that I just identify everything I do as a failure. I can't take that the things I want to achieve and wish the best for myself are the things I fail at. It eats me up inside and I would rather end it.
I need to get my insurance to approve more sessions. I still fight these very debilitating episodes a couple times a week.
I have 3 approved sessions with my neuropsychologist this summer. Very interested in doing another FSIQ and comparing my shit now to two years ago.

I pretty much did that as an experiment nearly 2 months ago. Packed up my shit on a bicycle and hit the road. Didn't have any maps or plans except head south. Chilling the fuck out now in Sardinia.
Surviving on €5 a day average. I spend a bit more on beer though. I eat wild fruit and do a bit of fishing and forraging for herbs to cook with. Sleeping on the beach and exploring crazy places. Wash in the sea or find a Tinder chick and shack up for a night.
Caught a lobster in shallow water yesterday for dinner. Trying to get over my fear of snakes and catch one to try and cook.

I have the "better" health plan work offers. At a $3000 deductible, the other plan's deductible is $7500. 3k is a fat chunk of change that I dont have laying round.

I remember my medical bills when I smashed my face into the concrete and broke my jaw, skull, knocked out a ton of teeth and broke my hand a few years ago at the part were up to something like $250k+ I got sent the bill because the hospital didn't understand me when I said my insurance policy number with tricare was my SSN. I kept giving them the number and they just thought I was confused because of the concussion.
Tricare is one of the biggest things from the military I will miss when I'm out next year.

The endurance of solipsism is a perfect example of how people can get stuck on the outcome of a logical argument, even when the conclusion is relatively absurd. I feel quite happy to disregard the idea on the simple basis that there are many things in the world that I don't understand at all. If the only thing I can verify the existence of is my own thoughts, then I struggle to see how I could think up things that no amount of those same thoughts can actually comprehend. The only way for that to be possible would be if there was a duality of mind/another strata of thought. Using solipsistic reasoning, there's equally no reason to believe in the other strata of thought, as there's no way to comprehensively verify it. It's always struck me as quite self-defeating.

I do see what your saying, but it has always struck me when reading Descarts meditations is that he does not specifically care about the outcome, it is more of a line of thinking, in his first mediation he doubts everything around him, including himself, and then finally coming to the conclusion that we must exist, because of these very thoughts. I think the outcome of this thinking is neither here nor there for him, rather just the logical conclusion of his previous work. Regarding Soplipsim in general, I have always liked Bertrand Russel's view in that why would the Soliphsist every try to convince anyone else of their argument, since it does not matter if you are the only person to exist. It has always seemed to me as a moot point in philosophy with people who argue for it being answered with a 'so what?' at the logical conclusion of their argument.

Haha, I'm fucking poor. Looking at 175k for small places with large backyards. The places we've been checking out are not in really nice neighborhoods with good school districts. Our main focus is a yard for our basset hound and room enough for a medium sized greenhouse. Its a hard thing to find because of people outright buying them with cash.
I don't know how to determine a mean for them around me. There are million dollar homes on one side of the street and 175-200 on the other block. I fucking hate sorting through all the condos, the community type houses, and everything that anyone that is over the age of 50 wouldn't live in.

Our baby girl is due on Sep 1st, so we're getting the house ready. Installing bamboo floors, switching rooms around, then making a bedroom into the nursery. Also painting two rooms. Then all the baby shopping, planning, classes, etc.
I need to get some small to medium sized jobs done on my Golf, XR400, and the 4runner. I really hope to have it all done this summer but the house takes priority.

Apparently he was kicking off with people and when they tried to calm him down he picked up a wooden pallet and threw it at the security!
Four hours at his own stag do! We were off our heads by then so two of the lads chilled out then drove him all the way home and came back in time for DJ EZ at gone midnight. Success.

That's crazy, I can't fathom that London is cheap by any means. I imagine the exact opposite. 155k (pound to USD conversion) is a really nice salary but some of the execs in my wife's have spouses who make equal amounts, so somewhere in the 200k and they aren't driving R8s or living in the nicest part of my region.

Nah. 40K isn't hard to live on anywhere in the US unless you have a 20K per year coke habit. I live in San Diego which has a median house value 80K higher than LA. I'm comfortable but that simply means I live with roommates, eat a few times a day, and can pay for luxuries like a cell phone and internet access. Americans in general are underpayed, but also think they need to keep up with the Kardashians. An extra 25k a year in my pocket would change a lot in my life, but I'd be equally as happy living the exact same lifestyle for the next 5-7 years and banking it all.

Learned a ton from basic G&M coding to MasterCAM x9, setups on HAAS and Fadal machines, etc etc. Ran a couple parts last semester, just ran my second for this class today. Took my journeyman exam today. Have very mixed feelings about it. It's a very broad field (brand new trade, and it's only a trade in Alberta) so it's a TON of knowledge to know, but you generally only do one specific sub job in the broader spectrum of the trade...
Talking to my coworkers who have also written the exam, they also felt like they did terribly, but all ended up passing so that gives me hope.

As a UK resident I don't really get the whole medical thing in the US, but what would happen if someone had a baby but was unemployed / in debt already and just couldn't pay? Would you be taken to court / car repossessed etc?

They would send the bill to a collection agency, who would harass you nonstop via calls, mail, etc. The debt would go on your credit report, which employers CAN reference in the hiring process. So lets say your potential employer overlooks it but they're far enough that you need a vehicle to commute. Good luck trying to get that car loan you need so you can have a vehicle to go to a job to pay off your debt. It's a fucked system.

These aren't people who are looking for a better life, these are previously middle-class comfortable families with no choice but to flee.
A minority of economic immigrants have seized this opportunity to abuse the generosity of Europe's support system and migrate at the same time, which has been picked up on by the right wing media and blown out of proportion.
A lot of Europe has responded with impressive empathy, but the system is not sustainable if we continue to see the same influx of migrants. What needs to happen is we stop bombing and start talking, and solve the problem at source. My best guess without actually looking it up (I'm not sure what methylated spirits are) is the it is a slightly less polar solvent to the sucrose which makes it a luck less soluble. The ethanol is still a decent solvent but not all the sugar is dissolved and acts as an abrasive agent.

Saturation you can think of as the amount of whatever at equilibrium in a solvent. That solution can become super saturated by using the method I was just talking about. Solutes can be more soluble by temperature. If get as much of your chemical to dissolve at a temperature but expect it will go back to a state of equilibrium were the solution can only have so much of the solute at 25°c. Instead you do a rapid cooling to go past the energy value to precipitate out, the solute can stay in solution instead of being in saturation it would normally be at in standard conditions.

Do you remember making rock candy? So you take your sugar (solute) and add it to boiling water (solvent). If you don't use boiling water, there is only so much sugar that will dissolve into solution. By boiling it, the solubility (how well it dissolves) increases. This greater solubility means there is a saturated solution at 100°c. As the solution cools slowly the crystals (precipitate) form large and classical crystal shape. Sometimes crystals won't form, this is what you would find as a super saturated solution in standard conditions.

Did these guys actually hurt anyone? Was it on purpose? How many times did they do it? Did they have political motivations? Now ask the same questions of the BLM, actually look up some answers and definitions, and THEN maybe start calling people terrorists.
I don't know what the takeover is actually about, or the people doing it, or what problems people have with ranchers in general, but literally charging the ones in this case as terrorists is 1910s-1940s level evil bullshit. And it's absolutely possible that this 'takeover' is just a stunt for the media to group them in with the militias that they've been trying to distance themselves from.
It's the first time any bit of this case has gotten anywhere near this much attention. Most of the people who see or hear anything about it will just assume the 'militias' and the ranchers are the same/all bad...

Neither does 'zee' though. The pronunciation of letters doesn't particularly matter, as there's no real relation to their actual sounds when used in words. The advantage I can see with using 'zed' is that the letters c and z can't be confused when spelling something aloud. 'See'(c) and 'zee'(z) are almost completely indistinguishable when I say them, but I'm not sure how much that has to do with my accent/voice. Is that the case in most American accents as well?
Using 'zer' instead of either would make a lot more sense.

I've been slowly transitioning my bike to be more responsive I think. I always preferred something snappy compared to stable.
Lately I find myself holding them closer to the 25-26 range. I like the straight arm pull feel compared to something wider. You see Chase D ride the insides of his bars a lot and I think there is definitely merit to it all. I also moved them forwards a few degrees. I can't really explain what about I like, it just feels right. At first it came off a bit twitchy but now I don't think I could pull it back. I do ride 20.5 frame so it could be a way to compensate for riding a shorter top tube for so long.
All I need is new a single 1.95 Animal GLH for the rear and I'll be absolute gold. I hate how 2.25 is like the smallest you can get now. And cut my bars down to 25.5. And plastic pedals.

For those that don't know, third party coverage doesn't even cover the car. If I hit someone, they're medical bills/ car repair bills are covered. If I put the car in a ditch and write it off, I'm shit out of luck.

It seems to be a combination of private insurance companies being greedy cunts and us regular folk paying for all the insurance scammers that claim €20k plus in whiplash cases. Even my dads premium increased by more than 50% this year and he's 61.
Unfortunately now this causes people to just drive without insurance which is only making the problem worse.
For reference im a student working part time and make less than €11k a year before taxes. Most of which pays for education.

I am not making a hyperbole when I saw investing all my time. I have had pictures and plants I've only specialized published in books, magazines, but given credit to the company instead. I'm on point and know my shit but get shut down with wrong information being denigrated in the process. Then when presented with correct information reject it out of pride.

I'm fully ok with that, we've been together since we were 13 so that's all we know. Just trying to figure out how I am going to provide them with a nice life and get our own place is stressful.
It's hard for me to put this into words on here but I'll give you a little insight to my predicament. Southcoast Cabinet is the company I work for, first job and have been here 3 years. I've picked things up very fast and have been a supervisor/ lead/ department manager for a little over a year now. I run our newest department which is rigid thermofoil. Anyways i make good money compared to the other shop guys but not compared to the world outside. ($20hr..started at 10)
My dad is the president of the company and i don't know where I go from here. I feel as if I'm going to just be stuck here doing what I'm doing as time goes on just because I can't screw over my dad by leaving. It also doesn't help that all my friends make a lot better money than I do.
Sorry for the rambling but for perspective the houses around me are $450k+ and I need to figure out how to get into one of dem by 25. I'm only 20.

I'm potentially doing the opposite commute wise, got an interview next month which would turn a 2.5 mile commute into a 25 mile one, albeit for a sizeable pay increase. I kinda know it would do my head in but having been at my current job over 10 years I feel it's now or never.

A bike, motorized or not, has to be faster.
Faster, but a 10000% increase in getting hit by a car. Houston is not two wheel friendly.

They're doing great. 3 hour labour and no tearing or snipping needed. Doctor was really surprised that her first baby went so smooth.

My first team night out with my job was a couple of nights ago and was completely arseholed. I sleep walked into the corridor of the hotel at about 5am, woke up trying to open my room door running on the spot needing to piss so had to do it in the corridor, then go to reception from the fifth floor in my boxers to get another key.
