Are you traveling with a bike? If so, I'm not sure India is a great destination for bike riding.

im thinking of bringing a decent used complete with me. all my travel is pretty much based on looking for places to ride and the people that pop up around it :o
vietnam has a great riding scene so ive been told
im only saying india becuase i have a friend out there right now
buuuuutttttt
ive been meeting a lot of awesome people who travel and go to all sorts of places and there will def be someone to go with to somewhere when the free rent runs out
and ive been meeting more and more of these awesome people due to these awesome people im surrounded with right now!

im also trying to figure out the roundtrip vs oneway trip thingything to save some money. i really dont like the idea of having a predetermined time and place to leave, i really dont like the idea of that.

You gotta consider visiting morocco dude! Rent, food, transportation, "vegetables" you may need... everything is cheap here. Actually $1K will make you live like a boss for a month in here. Plus i have no problem helping you with all infos you might need to know about living here.

Riding is like very few parks but a lot of nice street spots. Spain is 45 minutes by sea.

I will back this up. Just came back from morocco not too long ago and highly regret not bringing my bike, especially after seeing that luc legrand was in the same city at the same time as me. I lived there for a month and spent about 300 bucks. Awesome country with awesome people. It is an experience I will never forget.

Having a guaranteed way out is highly recommended.

I'm glad you like it. And yes it's true, Luc Legrand Anthony Lille and two other photographers were here few months ago , i met luc the first time here in Casablanca, the second time when i went to Marrakesh. You can let us know the next time you like to visit so we manage some riding sessions maybe?

Oh you're from there? If I ever come back, I will definitely hit you up. Casablanca was still a bit too "city" for me. I stopped in marrakesh for a short time but spent most of my time in Essaouira.

Southeast Asia is quite a standard Place to go bum around in for a while without breaking your bank. I have myself spent a month in Vietnam and would not want to bring my bike there...
Malaysia/Singapore have good scenes though.

India, definitely. Such a vibrant place and rather varied depending on each area you visit - do it.

Wherever you end up traveling, you should start a blog, post lots of pictures, and write about it.

Even if nobody else reads it, just so that you have it to reflect back on later in life.  I have a feeling that there's a few of us here that would follow it though.

India will blow your mind. I've become a classic Indi-bore (3 big trips and counting). Worth it for the chai alone.

+1 to travel, -1 for India.

I know it may be a somewhat controversial view to some, but I'm really not a fan of India, I've been there a few times for work, and I'm always glad to leave. Granted my view is probably tarnished by a working perspective, and whilst I live in South East Asia, I feel India pales in comparison.

I would say travel, but instead of listening to our suggestions, go to where feels right for you, there must some place in the world that you have always wanted to visit/explore etc. I also agree with the suggestion to document it via a blog, if nothing else, it will be for you to look back on, but I'm sure there are a couple dozen on here that would follow your assumably hilarious exploits.

I'm not sure about luggin a bike around, it depends on what you are travelling for, there are many places to ride in Bangkok, KL, Singapore, HK and Vietnam for sure, if that is, you decide to go in that direction.
