Been a while since we had one of these. What ancient gear are y'all still running?
-
Nankai technolite freecoaster guts. EST 2003
-
My S&M Challenger stem is the oldest part. Over two years old now. Some of you OG members probably know why I call this my karma stem hahaha.
-
My Powerbites will be 9 years old soon
7 year old 30t Tree OG sprocket
I retired a 7 year old front hub shell last year after it got wobbly
-
my tech 77 is from 1996, still kicking ass.
-
Me.
Then one of my Tech 77's from the 80's. with locking lever button intact.
-
Dirt Harry 8 yearsish
Fbm frame 5-6
-
My OG solid stem is really old, its been through several owners.
My frame, forks, wheels, sprocket and grips are almost 5 years? My grips are truly older than that, they were backups and I put them on when I put this bike together.
I hate riding it these days because it's past the prime of usage. I like to think about buying new shit when I'm riding it. When I get on the internet to look at shit to replace, I fucking hate it. I like buying orchids way more.
-
My s&m racing challenger has to be old. Pretty sure my khe chain is fairly old. animal lite pegs & eccd from 09..
-
I run Gt driveshaft cranks on a lot of my bikes. They're from 99 2000 I think but I picked most of them up from 2009 on. They were cheap when I got them but now they are getting collectable. As for age in terms how long I've been riding them, I've been running a DK Jump stem since 2003 or 2004 and have a Nokon cable outer and Tree OG sprocket I got in 2006.
-
I'm still using my WTP Pi hub / Dragonfly High 5 rim front wheel that I got with my first BMX in 2005.
-
I'd like to say that my bike is pretty fresh but it's all at least a year old. I've just only used it once this year.
-
back oppy peg off some complete bike from like 01-2 i guess, or actually maybe my dirty harry lever (although im getting a new one soon hopefully-apparently whoever distros em here is selling them for ~$35 a set). also my tires could be pretty old, i cant imagine green primo walls flying out the door anytime recently
ive got lots of old bits and pieces in the shed but non of them are on my main bike (theres some good shit on my sunday but i never ride that).
-
My back oppo peg is pretty old too, actually. It's a, maybe, 8-year-old Odyssey J-Peg?
Other than that probably my Animal Jumpoff stem. When did those come out, 2003 or so?
-
Fly rims are 8 years old.
-
sprocket , odyssey million dollar... battered teeth are fucked but its gotta be 5 years?
and until a 2 months back , my og fbm bottleneck stem ...ive owned it for 5 years , and been passed about god know how many times , need to find another!
-
Sheffield Build Gsport Monkey. 1999 maybe?
-
My Cencea pivotal seat post is 7 years old.
-
I have a 1998 homer rear which is awaiting the right bike.
-
I'd like to say that my bike is pretty fresh but it's all at least a year old. I've just only used it once this year.
it has only been 2015 for three days.
My oldest part are sunday tall-t bars, they have lasted around 4 years.
-
My front rim, a 4-yr old GSport somethingcage-It's been built to 3 different hubs now.
-
Fly cnc brakes and éclat lever are from 2007ish.
-
My wheels, ratchet/marm to hazards. From the summer after the ratchet came out
-
Primo 7k rim is 7 years old.
ECCD, Profile cranks and Tree front hub are 4 years old.
-
riding a dirtbike frame from 09
my odyssey race forks are about 6 or 7 years old.
-
My front rim is from 2002-2004ish (araya super7x)
brakes (fly) are from 2006
seat post (animal) is from 2007
Forks are from 2008-2009 (odyssey race)
front hub is from around 2009-2010 (odyssey)
Bars are from 2011 (united)
-
Animal OG topload stem probably. I got it off a member here, I've personally had it for 4 years or so.
-
My marmoset collars and axle from 09
-
I recently build up a second bike for riding dirt, which contains:
- Seatclamp from my first BMX (Eastern Battery 2003, bought January 2004)
- S&M Blackbike frame 2004, bought in 2005
- Odyssey Wombolts, first batch, pre ordered at empire at the time, not sure when that was
-
Fsa headset cap 2007
-
another animal OG stem, only had it for 2 years though bought off here
front wheel was new to me in 2007 (marmoset/haz lite)
-
My Marmoset hub is pretty old... 09 at the newest.
My profile cranks are probably about 8 years old. I have v1 Concorde forks...
My entire bike is pretty old actually broken parts miraculously get replaced with parts that are NOS or other old stuff.
-
My whole bike is pretty old. Now that I think of it, almost all of it is from 08 when I built up this v1 United Trinity:
I'm still rocking the same wheels front and back (Simple Eject to Rhino Lyte, WTP Q-Lite Supreme to Ribcage), same sprocket, seat/post, Sunday forks, even recently went back to running one of those Revenge tires in the back. The stuff that has been replaced for the most part with some equally or even older stuff like used powerbites, (probably 10+ years older) Seshin Chilko bars, a 06 stem off a Fly Complete, and a v1 BSD Forever frame...
-
I got a front Peregrine hub from Joe Johnson in 1990...countless axles and bearings later, the shell is still goin' strong!!!
-
Still have my Macneil Titanium pegs on my bike. Original Odyssey Par ends and wombolts, whatever year they first came out. thomsen seatpost and fit ECCD. Original MK1 animal jump off with the griffin logo.
-
Definitely my fork- it's a straight leg Odyssey Race fork that was originally snow camo. It's at least 9 years old, maybe 10. Now that I think about it I should probably replace it.
-
My RNC Fullguard, Primo Powerbites and Mutiny Slick peg are all at least 10 years old.. besides that my bike is fairly new.
-
Just realized I'm running a Voxom Supra-Beta(?) rim in the front since 2001.
-
khe collapse chain. indestructable
-
Either my OG (1st gen) Animal peg I throw on once in awhile or RNC seatclamp ,sprocket. I don't remember what i bought first.
-
khe collapse chain. indestructable
Actually, the rollers on mine started falling apart and you can only replace so many before the chain becomes a crusty corpse.. R.I.P.
Now I need a new one.

how long did it last?
-
Embarrassingly I have only ever run one tire the Salt Pitch Raw, off my first ever complete bike (WTP Trust 2010). I got that bike in late 2009 so 5+ years now. Man I need a new tire.
-
khe collapse chain. indestructable
ive fucked 2 up now, and used up almost all the extra links in the process
-
Shimano PD MX30 pedals that I've been running on and off since 2002 or so.

2+ years?
-
Have been on my collapse for 4-5 years, although I'm not as hard on it as laz.
-
Ben is the new Laz.
-
i smash my chain a lot on driveside grinds and also doing crankarm grinds on ledges. links get twisted and chewed up, grinding driveside without a guard on right angled coping ledges is usually what does it
got a keychain on the way so will see how that works out. also fingers crossed ill have space to run my sprocket with the guard on the inside again on my aod cos of the wishbone, although i dunno cos it looks pretty tight

last few times ive emailed empire theyve said theyre still at the painters, i guess fbm have just been super busy. i think the original shipping date was supposed to be november (i ordered in october), i wonder how many they made in the end?
bit annoying cos international shipping is gonna take a while too, but oh well, will be worth it in the end. still excited

I have a knight cable hanger I've been using since about 2007. It's great
-
Frame, '07 S&M Stricker V2 still perfect
-
Everything on my bike minus tires and grips are probably closer to 6-7 years old now. Been out of the game, so much new stuff to choose from. Easier to not look and just ride what I have.
-
My Powerbites are now teenagers
-
Thomson seat post, on my bike since 2010.
-
Solid stem still solid, and at least a teenager.
-
Front rim Alex Supra Beta, from 2001.
-
Suelo brakes for the rear. Sometime ago.
-
Og CNC Flybikes brakes from when they first came out so a long time.
-
Currently it's my ECCD seat and Tree front hub which are about 8 years old.
-
Tree light sprocket
-
my cencea pivotal post is from 2007
-
me..
-
I lied, it's actually my Odyssey straddle cable hanger and Monolever medium lever. I put the perfect curve on the lever part that I now swap out every time the perch goes to shit. Straddle hanger is from my first pair of Evo 2 brakes when they first came out about 13 years ago.
-
Madera 19mm cranks and a knight cable hanger
-
stricker v2 frame
-
Probably either my red Fly cross lace rims or my Macneil OG post
-
prolly my odsy antigram front hub. before that it was a 4 year old pair of deco forks but the steer tube bent on them this past month
-
The 10mm spacer under my stem.
-
prolly my odsy antigram front hub. before that it was a 4 year old pair of deco forks but the steer tube bent on them this past month
My Marmoset is still fine after over 10 years, probably due for its second bearing replacement. I only replaced it because A. the second newest G-Sport hub had way better aluminum guards available with steel inserts and B. it came in clear anodized polished to match my Clutch hub.

ah good deal-- clutch parts, I love odyssey
-
My wife tracked down my exact old Fit s3 frame for me last year for my birthday. My s&m racing challenger stem was ancient. eccd seat and tree light sprocket.
-
Mavic Xx 48 hole rims.
-
It's still my O.G. RNC fullguard.. honorable mentions to my Primo Powerbites, V1 Primo Mix and my Ave drive side hub guard.
-
Mavic Xx 48 hole rims.
Whoa dude! You are still around on here! Hope all is well.
