How about a minimum post count for noobs to start a new FS post in the classifieds? This prevents people from registering only to sell their shit and encourages actual interaction. I've seen this on a few other forums and it works well.

Unfortunately I do not believe we can limit their ability to start threads in the for sale section and not all the other forums.
It's a good idea, and would in fact probably help with spam in some way too.
I'll look into it.

Cool, thanks. IIRC the other forums that did it were Vbulletin based too.

I swear that used to be the case here? 50 posts or so? Maybe I'm imagining things.
-
i thought this was put in place last year?
-
Except then they post a load of shit posts in the normal forums
-
System to prevent that too. Kicked after xx posts in xx amount of time.
-
The spam filter is in place. The first few posts by anyone do have to be approved before they can post. I think it's 50 posts before they can start a thread.
Sadly, I think many people would be kicked for x amount of posts in x time.

Sweet!

can all the time I've spent lurking this damn board count as posts? :bustin:

I think you're proving yourself worthy.
My main concern was the dumbass kids who hop in here and post crap, and/or the spammers.
