Some of you dumbasses fail to read the rules, so here you go.
DON'T DO IT!
How stupid are you?
This board is indexed by search engines.
It can and does get monitored by music, movie and of course bike companies. I am sure Odyssey just loves you guys asking right in front of them how to get their videos for free.
Besides that, IT CAN BE USED IN COURT AGAINST YOU IN COURT!
You may as well sign a piece of paper stating you are breaking the law since that is what it equates to. One Bg member is already in court for things he said on another forum and look at all the people fired over things posted on Myspace, the music and movie lawsuits...
Don't be such a bunch of morons.
Anyone can monitor this place.
In fact:
Links to BG from Yahoo: 364,556
Links to Bg from Google: 92,700
Links to BG from Altavista: 366,000
Links to Bg from Alltheweb: 360,000
I really would prefer not to be asked to testify against you in court.

Law is written different, but it means pretty much the same. You guys just aren't as sue-happy as Americans.
-
I want to know who the bikeguide member being put through the courts is?
-
It is legal in Canada but US pressure is very upfront with alot of major movie studios halting film making in our country.
Buy your music people for the appreciation of the artists you listen to, it is very ignorant not to IMO.
-
Google dislikes BG.

wat, i never heard of that
-
Are we going to have a ban on the many threads about people smoking weed too?
-

maybe all you kids need to stop being such "rebels"
-
I actually prefer going into target and getting the hard copy of my music. it's good.
-
Laugh all you want Canada, a copy protection DMCA style law is going through your government that is MORE restrictive than the U.S. version. Even if it fails, the companies will not stop until they pass one about the same or worse.

He just PWN3D you Canada!
Oh and this is his forum is his, if he doesnt want that shit dont do it, no matter wherer you live he could probably get brought into lawsuits because he didnt "restrict" it or something, so uh stop arguing and just dont do it.
-
No one is arguing. We all understand why he is doing it. Besides, if you're not smart enough to figure it out on your own you shouldn't probably be doing it anyway, since you wouldn't understand the risk you are putting yourself at.

I'm pretty sure it was some kid who was trying to phish people, thread was in the hate section.

No, there were at least 2 threads, I deleted 2 in the last 24 hours.
-
What about using music in your video? Are you allowed to do that. Or is it only illegal when you try to sell your videos with music on it?
-
That is actually considered fair use if it is personal.
Selling, yeah you are illegal. However it is not me you need to worry about on any of this.
I have been asked by companies to remove things now and again.
-
The Alaskan kids seem to be repeat offenders of this.

here here its really stupid of plp postin bout that stuff come on im broke as hell but i still buy bmx movies but i cnat say im a lil angel i dl-ed 3 before BUTTT................ I ALSO bought them couple months l8ter when i had the money$$$$ :agree:

i think that if you really want to support an artist. go to their shows and buy merch. and get others to go to their shows. artists dont get any money from the cd you buy at target. maybe 10 cents. By buying an album at a store, all you are doing is supporting a greedy record label.
i used to be in a band and still have many friends who are. its sad to see them struggling while record companies are making money off their albums.
(unless its an indie label and then you should buy the album wherever)
if you really want a cd, mosts artists sell them on their websites.
-
Do not paint me as the model citizen sticking up for IP rights.
Honestly, I really do not care if you do this stuff as long as it is not on BG. I am not an advocate for the industry. Far from it, greedy pricks if you ask me (fuck em'). The recording and movie industries need a massive change anyhow. If it means the death of them, so be it. They deserve it for what they are doing. They are like a deer in the headlights, they see the car coming, and know they will die, but they just stand there instead of doing something constructive, like moving. In any industry suing your customers is a desperate last act.
The problem is that discussing this stuff violates the terms of service for BG's host, same most most others, some sites are just more lax. Not to mention it could be used to nail your ass to the wall.
For the record, I think I have bought one new RIAA endorsed cd since the Metallica/Napster lawsuit (which by the way, Metallica got where they are by people trading and loaning their tapes, hypocritical assholes).
Not saying I have not bought any (a few), just none from groups or labels who are a part of that racketeering organization.
-

oh thank god you are banned again

I read in an article on Reddit that of all the money claimed by the RIAA, not one single dollar makes it to the artist. The system definitely needs to change in favour of the creatives who fuel it.

Hell, I haven't supported Metallica in any way since the black album, and tried desperately to hide my shame when I got the Re-load record album for Chrismas one year.
However, anybody that knows me, knows that I spend a ton of money on Slayer / The Misfits, though I do feel bad that I am supporting Danzig, it was Jerry Only's decision to hand him the money, not me directly.
I also support GOOD local or underground bands.. and my uncle helps a ton of bands out by doing really good deals on his DJ work for advertising with really good underground bands.
However, I can see why you don't want L/W shit on your site, but anywho.. are you aware of what charges this BG member has against them?

Yes.
It has nothing to do with what was said on BG, and nothing to do with this thread except that what you say online can be used against you.

I only do that after a few dates and after getting to know you, I am not that kind of person.
And no, McDonald's does not count as a date.
