okay so i am searching for some stairmasters in bikechecks and:

that's stupid. i think something should be done about it.

I'd have thought the fact you have to wait for 20 seconds (or is it 40?) between searches would've been more annoying?  Certainly ****s me off ;)

That is done to save the server from being brought down by it.
The search is very hard on a server.

Ah, fair enough.  Thanks for the info, I'd always wondered why you'd want to restrict searches.

the search function does have a very serious shortcoming- minimum word lengths.

it's impossible to search for a term like "KHE" or "rim" because they are too short. how else might i search for topics about a "rim" or just KHE parts?

I think its a similar issue.  Imagine how many threads will have the word KHE or Rim in them.  From what sheep told me, it just bogs down the server.
