Dude... awesome.
-
yes ben, looks sick! do they have the same old aod geo or a shorter back end?
this swap happened today, i feel a bit gutted i didn't have the money to just buy the big4s but ah well. what's done is done and they feel close enough

Swapped seats, cut my bars and grips a 1/4" more to keep the same feel, but lose some width.
-
Ben, that frame looks amazing. Are you going to hook up brakes or go brakeless?
-
Hell yeah AOD!
-
yes ben, looks sick! do they have the same old aod geo or a shorter back end?
back end is 13.5 i think, and headtube is 75 so its a bit different.

do you know what the score is with the make scerbo style bars in the works? also i saw ben ward posting what looks like a remake of the og gt bars, good to see the bob bar legacy shall continue
Ben, that frame looks amazing. Are you going to hook up brakes or go brakeless?
i will eventually put brakes on, i switch them out from time to time. ive got some black tyres, and gonna put my fubars back on when i want to brake cos theyre a bit wider than my 10s. also need to un camo the forks, it was raining yesterday morning and i wanted to get it built quick but didnt dare bring nitromorse into the house hahha
feels super solid (i got new headset and bb, plus a marmoset front a few weeks back so that could also be a factor), only issue so far is with 2.1 tyres, the gap between the wishbone and tyre is massive and i nearly ripped my big toe off braking last night. its deffos designed for new school super fat tyres
-
decent, more than short enough for you! id deffo ride one they look boss. no idea about the make bars but it'll be good if it happens, guaranteed sales! cant wait to see whats to come from them now the teams stacked full of OGs with clarky doing the videos
looked at the gt ones and they're tagged #theoriginal, he doesn't seem to let on they're remakes, maybe he's just found a pair tucked away at gt? cut the big4s to 26" and they look sound, i thought the box was a lot wider but that was looking at oba stanley's prototypes which put me off them when they came out
-
yeah i remember not liking the early pics of em, but when ive seen em since they look fine (as long as theyre not uncut). the make has an awesome team, all the best northern street ogs, one of the few companys puttin out webvids i can be arsed to actually watch these days
backend on the aod is great, wanted to try something a bit longer than my btm so this is perfect. was expecting to be dissapointed after waiting so long (and the australian dollar dropping 30c on the US in the meantime so it cost way more than i thought), but im not. very happy with it

He is safe for at least another fortnight. I'm up in Byron at the moment so I can't steal it for the time being. Plus he seems allergic to upsweep at the moment so those bars make my wrists cry
-
i hold em on the bends and they dont feel so flat-discovered that back during my first foray into large bars when i got mad max bars
-
Changed it up a bit. Gum Cult grips, black FAFs.

Small internet. Nice seat. When your bike popped up on Reddit I was hoping you were the average /r/bmx user that didn't realize the potential gold mine they were sitting(...) on.

I've been planning to, but that involves using an actual PC that isn't at work, and I can't seem to find it.
That in unless someone knows how to resize in the imgur app, or mobile browser.

do it like {img width=800} in the first set of brackets when you embed the pic on here (obv with square brackets though) so itll be {img width=800}www.linkforyourimage.com/bike.jpeg{/img}.
width can be whatever you want (id say 800-1280), and itll scale the image accordingly

Thanks. I think the sprocket is a Light V2.
I've been messing with this to try and make it work adequately.

I've been back at my parents house over Easter and decided to try and ride for the first time in nine months or so.
I didn't have any proper wheels, so I built my bike up with my dodgy ghostpedalling freecoaster and the front wheel from my ghetto warpig. Unfortunately, I had to use the heavy old pitchforks from the warpig too because the wheel was 14mm.
The bike rides like a sack of shit but I still had fun. Did a barspin, a hop up hang 5 and tried and succeeded to jump a jumpbox too. Needless to say, not riding my that long makes everything a lot more difficult.
-
ah nice, that front wheel was a beast. primo stock hub to big city 48 goodness
-
Yeah, it isn't even that heavy, I've ran that wheel a few times on my normal bike and it has taken so much shit.
I ache so much after two sessions, my thighs and calves have felt like jelly all week. I rebuilt the warpig again before I left and I've struck a deal with my mate to get some orange profile hubs laced to some shit primo rims for £100 so I will be taking my bike back to Bristol hopefully. I'll post some stunts soon.
-
The newest set up at Motion in Bristol is meant to be good fun and usually empty when my mates have been down.
-
Is Bristol the Austin of the UK for bmx?

press fit, ht badge, and an indent for sprocket clearance... fuck yes!
Not press fit just a beer can intergrated. Not sure how big I'm going to be able to go with sprocket. Just waiting on a new bb so I cAn build it all up and dial it in. I've ordered a 28t just I case I can't dial a 30 in
-
chainline is barely passable for a 28 with me, on a regular backend. depends on the chain though, keychain is very unforgiving of wonky chainlines, even when loose.
hopefully the indent helps, wish id specced that on mine.

finally got to ride for the first time in like 2 weeks. Even though it was only 40~ minutes, I was happy. I noticed my brakes worked shitty and my tires were low on air but couldn't fix it since my woman took my truck to visit her sister and my tools were in the truck.

When're we going to see some flatland stuff?
-
When're we going to see some flatland stuff?
1. When I get this paycut reversed and can afford to buy a go pro and tripod.
2. When I can build enough confidence in my riding to take video or something other than peg wheelies and pogos.
3. When I get more time to actually ride.
4. When I run out of excuses to film myself and commit to learning.
Lol
-
I want to see neither a peg wheelie nor a pogo. You have until the end of July.
-
get on it, be a rider not a bike builder

Damn that bike looks awesome.
I don't normally like silver chains, but it goes with that sprocket really well. That stem looks pretty nice on that bike too. Is that one of those Division stems?

Thanks.
Yeah it's the Division Terminal stem. Seems to be fine so far.

Been out for a while with hand injuries. Bought this frame early April after cracking my Fly but really just starting to ride it now. Not sure how into the orange I am but I like it!

How's the GLAND MK4?
-

How's the GLAND MK4?
I don't really grind the front right much, so I can't speak to it's durability, but the install was much better than the last Gland I had. This one went on a GSport Marmoset and centered perfectly. The zipties aren't quite as tight as I'd like, but I think I just need to snug them up with a pair of pliers.
The piece that I'm most excited about is on the rear. After breaking my chain after a little knock from a grind, I picked up a GSport Uniguard. I had to fight it a little during installation--nothing major--but it did make for a little more hassle than I'm used to putting the rear wheel back on. The chain hits it on the bottom, which is annoying. I just need to hit it with a grinder and it's good to go.
-
try an extra thin washer under the guard, i have to do that with my daily grind one. driveside guards are always a bit of a hassle to get fitted nicely but worth it

I got the cranks/sprocket from this $40 craigslist find....odyssey 41 thermal cranks and 36t tree sprocket in damn near new shape. Condor frame, back wheel was toast, front wheel has a smooth odyssey hazard hub but flaking chrome alex rim. If anyone wants the condor frame hit me up.

Cleaned up the Steadfast, put on a 31t sprocket for that lovely 31/9 gearing. Finally put on a new set of Pleg sleeves since the old ones were getting pretty mangled. Bike's feeling pretty damn good!

sneak peek at FRANKENBIKE
wtp dave osato frame
odyssey forks and bars

36t TREE sprocket
redline monster rear wheel with 13t driver

That might be the best looking bike on the internet, Tom.
I love the classic colors and the oldschool wheel scheme, but still has some new school stuff like the Fit forks and BF stem.
-
Cheers man! Just got the new chainring on there so thought I might as well put up a picture.
-
I don't know, bikes with mismatched coloured wheels and more important lots of chrome don't appeal to me at all.
-
That's cause you're probably 17 and like rasta-oil-rainbow pentagram bikes.
Give it some time my friend... :)
-

I'm 18 and I like black and raw bikes (with maybe a frame in a subtle colour). Don't judge too early 'my friend'.
-
Sashes bike is tits,i think a matching colour rear rim and railed seat shall seal the deal though
-
Im closer to 30 than 20 I think Sashas seat and frame color combination awful, to say nothing of the mismatched wheels. I definitely know some 16 year old kids that would be into it for the color though.

You know, or more likely you don't know that this is a Stranger logo from around 2011 when there were no oilslick parts and shit. Raw, black and chrome were the only colours they did. Again, don't judge if you have no idea what you're talking about.
Thank you badlight that you share my opinion.
-
Using a rainbow oilslick rasta pentagram shows that you exactly like that bullshit.

I don't know if you're just being a complete idiot or don't have any other problems in your life, but I know what I like in bikes and what I don't. Why don't you start be an adult and stop behaving like a little kid in kindergarten?
-
Get pissed, man, this is important shit.
-
The important thing is not the color, but the radness that happens when the bike is ridden. Ride on!
-
Hahaha.
-
its only fitting that toms bike cause an e-fight on here
-
Even after all these years.
-
Yeah it's not like it's still got that dildo on it
-
my friend just built up a bmx bike for the first time in 10 or 15 years, i gave a little input to what i thought he might like and what might withstand his abuse based on seeing him ride back in the day.
sbc 21.25" 250L and 9" bars i think
bsd stem, fork, tires
odyssey wheels, post, seat, pedals, headset, brakes
daily grind pegs, driveside guard
s&m seatpostclamp, front hubguards, rear non drive guard
kink og throwback 25t (we both had standard sta's with kink 44t OG's back in the day)
demolition cranks
cult chain
animal edwins
peregrine pyott bar ends as soon as he gets them off his old volume hellion setup.
muscle memory is crazy, dude did a nice little abubaca on a 3 foot wedge ramp kinda bank thing within the first 15 minutes of being back on a bmx bike after a solid decade or more.
-
Sick

Timmy...lol

I miss my 250l much more comfortable than a barcode.

that 250 does look sick, but to me it seems wrong when non race standard frames dont have the gusset of glory

currently riding my primate. lost all my frames. either gave away or lost in shitty deals. my st.martin is getting cleaned up, I'm writing my wedding vows on it since my wife to be bought me that frame when we got back together. I don't want to just ride flatland so I'll ride everything instead. I was hesitant to post because I might be getting a free frame soon.

Rad to see that there's still bikes out there with gyros.

I'll probably end up using some smaller ares pegs, but it's getting there

After riding my primate I decided it's too damn heavy and the rear end is way to long. Really wish I had my 20" deco frame. Wife to be gave me the clearance to buy a frame after the wedding. Gonna go with a 20 inch top tube frame. Maybe an intrikat or atf frame. We'll see how my Christmas bonus looks.
-
The rear end isn't too long. It's not too heavy either. Ride the damn frame for 6 months

he might wanna do the odd grind as well? not gonna be very smooth on those pegs though haha

hubguard just because I didn't take it off for the picture, lsd because the wheel will probably be on another bike eventually. I don't know that I'll use these pegs for long, but the slightly smaller Ares/88 ones are dented/ground pretty bad...
-
My bike as of right now. Took most of the stickers off and discovered a crack in my forks. Also my back tire is split but still holding. Fingers crossed I can get some more sessions in on this thing before a new year overhaul is in order.

today i had my 3rd or 4th outing with the f25. i haven't had a dialed front brake setup since jason enns rode a kink empire v1 frame. it's addictingly fun, not sure if i'm feeling the 25 degree offset for everything though. it's cool for easily popping into nosepick variations at the park, but i'm not sure if i dig it for street riding. seems a little squirrely, but i was still feeling lightheaded from a bad cold plus i haven't pedaled in a couple weeks.
-
It's actually more stable at speed than normal offset, but less so when going slow. More speed-based stability due to increased trail, but less gravity-based stability
-
so just haul more ass then?

another bike another shitty rattle can job

Still looks decent, Rusty. Haven't touched mine since last summer which is a bummer. Haven't even an recent photo so I'll share one in its prime stage for the nostalgic feeling.

It's a V1 Cult DAK seat (http://shop.greenhousebmx.com/cult-dak-pivotal-seat.html), its cover is starting to peel off because it's so old but I can't find anything that looks just as good and has some padding. Those new BSD mid seats look good, though.

Awesome, is that still a paul comp lever? I read it might not like any abuse.
-
It's the E-Lever. My brake doesn't work because of it.

Scored this Fit Benny 1 for $50 today from my local Facebook market group. Going to put new grips and brakes on it then try to sell it. Or maybe keep it, idk (https://p.vitalbmx.com/photos/forums/2018/09/21/62853/s1200_8427DDAF_83BC_4B7F_A63B_90D0E3F263BE.jpg)

...If anyone cares.

Right on. I abandoned the peg life on my return post acl surgery. You got recent clips on your non public Instagram?
-
Sick bike. Is it a model c?

Oops. Made it not private now.
Sick bike. Is it a model c?
It's a custom Stout with a super short rear end (by cruiser standards). I've got a Model-C that I need to put the back wheel back on post on here too. I've got a bunch of cruisers I should post up actually.

Right on Bunky.

Hell yeah, post that shit!
What's considered short on a cruiser? What about bb height? I've looked at some cruisers online and most seem to have low BBs relative to wheel size, I guess they're more racing oriented but surely a higher BB and shorter rear end would be more fun for street or park.

So this frame has the following geo:
Toptube: 22
Headtube: 75 degree
Seattube: 69 degree
Chainstay: 13.75 slammed, currently sitting just under 14
Bottom bracket: 12.7
Standover: 9.5
The bottom bracket is pretty low compared to stuff like the Colony & Sunday cruisers at 13.8, and the old Fit CR24's that had 13.5 bb's. I kind of like it with the short back end, though. The feel of the bike is still a lot like a 20. I've been playing around with a LOT of cruisers and have another custom that's a 13.25bb with a 14 inch rear end that rides pretty good. I'm about to do another custom that's going to be similar, and maybe another where I push the geo to extremes.
Just for reference, my 20 is a Mutiny Animist with a 14 inch rear end and 21.5 top tube. I can't ride any of these newer frames with ridiculously short rear ends and crazy tall bars. I just loop out and eat shit all the time.
I need to post up a more recent clip of me dicking around on my micro ramp I built in my garage. The ramp is tiny, ceiling is super low, and the cruiser makes it all a little bit smaller feeling too.

How much can a custom frame cost? I've thinking about getting in touch with FBM to order a custom 24" and build it up with all the fancy TI stuff I couldn't afford back in the day.
-
I would expect to pay 450 - 750 depending on who you get to build it and what kinds of requirements you have.
-
Pedal Driven's base price is $580 for a 24" Custom. Not sure how much you're willing to spend but you know your getting quality shit from Dave at PDC. I have a 20" PDC and I love it.

Quamen 27t sprocket. Green chain and pedals because my daughter went up and said green! (She’s 2, learning colors/numbers). Might get some non pinch bolt cranks but idk. My local shop has some odyssey cranks with bottom bracket combo for 150 so it’s tempting.
