looking at upgrading the wheels on my current steed, but i cannot decide if i should buy a complete set of wheels or have a set custom built. and if i go the custom route what would be the most ideal rims and hubs to put in the build?
currently the bike is running on some Alex Supra2's, stock 48h haro hubs with sealed 14mm axles.
they are bombproof, but at the same time combined they weigh almost as much as my second bike.
Thanks ahead of time,
Boneskid1

This is the bike, http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/haro/37204 I am not on my pc right now so I cannot link my pics.

Don't know if these have gone yet... http://www.bikeguide.org/forum/index.php/topic,217912.0.html

Still waiting on my R25s in the mail. :( Canada post is shit as fuck.
Watch that steeper offset, gotta get used to it. I nearly ate shit just pumping around on flat ground 1st sesh. after switching to F25s...

Haha, yeah I hear the first few rides are a little sketchy.  Thanks for the heads up though lol

I've had good luck so far with ghost pads, but some people don't like them... Salmon Kool stops come next probably

Found these little guys today...

other than the cracks, what frame is that? as that head tube looks really poorly made. i dont know what to call them but the skirt which covers the head set is not equal all the way round, not sure if that is important though.

The headtube is actually the same height all around, it is just the radius on the outside edge that varies slightly. I just had a look at my bike and it is very hard to see, the shadows and dirt in the picture seem to amplify the effect quite a lot.

It may have been caused by me when I was polishing the frame, but I'm not too sure. It is a Fly Montana 2 from a couple of years ago.

took my wobbly fly cranks off.  degreased and put permanent loctite on the splines . I'm hoping it holds up till I can get new cranks

my friends thunderbolts always seem to wobble. he cranks up the bolt with mad force but in 5 minutes they still wobble, no matter what the spacer combination.

also, my other friends wombolts also seem to wobble but thats acceptable (those cranks are like 5 years old)

Something is definitely wrong there. Are you sure your friend has the right size tube spacer in his BB?

^Just so you know, any WD40 residue that was left behind will break down the new grease. I'm not saying you need to take drastic measures to "fix" this "issue," but you may want to avoid doing that in the future.

I don't grease bearing seats right? Why is that?

I dont know you tell us... laziness? Greasing them is good practice.

:)
G.

Not trying to stir anything up here I'm just curious - why don't Odyssey/Gsport hubs come with greased bearing seats?

WD40 should be fine, but I'd wash the frame off with paint thinner when you're done. Let that dry, then paint it.

Put a second set of springs under every pawl in my Profile hub to try and stop it from skipping. So far it seems to be working...

Man, how do these hubs continue to sell so well?
