S&M Speedballs slippery?

(1/1)

Davet:
Maybe it's because the profiles different from Animal GLH (the only tire I'd ever used) but first turn on flat (asphalt!) were I leaned into it a bit they just washed out!

Narcoleptic Insomniac:
Same happened to me with a set of Rubens and I took a bad spill that ended in an ER visit and a scar on my chin.New tires are usually covered in a waxy residue from the manufacturing process and until it wears off they can be a bit slippery. It'll wear off after a session or two or you can sand them down a little.

Trail-Boss:
Waxy residue is called "mold release" and should wipe off with a rag and some warm water.
In a lot of road tires that is part of the qc process and someone will wipe the tire as they QC it.

Davet:
makes sense, thanks guys! they are squeaking now. sorry to hear that man, I just got embarrassed because it was crowded sidewalks and I was going like 2 mph haha
