odyssey clutch: clicking noise when I stop pedaling

<< < (2/8) > >>

RighteousBMX:
Tubes of grease are actually like tubes of toothpaste... if you press pretty hard then a bunch will shoot out at once. Try that.

JFax:
Ive had similar noises from one of my many KHE-style coasters where it made a loud noise when disengaging.
Think it had to do with the clutch having sharp edges. Didnt damage the hub, just made a loud noise.

If it is too annoying I think you can very sligthly file off the top micro-meter of where the clutch engage the hub. I would assume that this could change how evenly the clutch catches the hub Shell though, rendering this a stupid idea.

stuff often comes with way too much grease in it.  have you taken the hub apart at all? seen the youtubes of how to do it?  ediot should know what he's talking about here, regarding the stickyness. Or maybe it's something else, I don't know. I've had the hub for a year now(?) and still haven't built it up, but I know that george has mentioned the grease/lube a few times - that you don't need to add any when you install it because it already has more than necessary...

ediot, please post the yellow Standard. I never get sick of seeing that bike

Stoked:
Clutch pop is common and should disappear overtime as it breaks in

This is what I'm thinking. Break that thing in.
