It's cause this generation of pros grew up on Bob's Animal videos. Honestly I can't think of another pro outside of Ryan Worcester and Marv in Nang that had any non-2 piece bars in that era. 6-piece bars has existed at one point

at least theres options now, at one point almost every single bar was a slam clone 8 high 12 back 1 up

I started riding 5 years ago, saw an ad of Björn Elvering doing a handrail with some 4pc bars, I had no idea what they were called. When I found the WTP Everlites only I immediately bought them. Been riding 4pc ever since.

GT also influenced 4 piece bars with the Powerlite bar, which S&M Brian Castillo (and Dave Parrick) rode in BMX Inferno https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgT7RFjVqaE, before Brian Castillo got his own bar made.
