Prodigal Son:
I want to try to buy it. I did some reading about it and insurance basically is sending it to a scrap yard. Besides the radiator support getting pushed back (the hood pulled it back still being latched) all the other shit is cosmetic. At least I can start a turboed track car.

They never made a manual sportcross. The US got a manual sedan in 2002. You can use a supra gearbox and convert them easy enough though..

Funny you mention their rarity, in Ireland the IS300 and smaller sibling the IS200 have become the cheap RWD car of choice for a drift beater. You can go out with €2000 in your pocket, buy one, weld the diff and have some money left over for a few sets of tyres and a cuppa tea.

Prodigal Son:
I've been looking them up for pricing there's an 01 w 409200 km for £3500. Hope I don't get insulted this week, otherwise I'm raising hell with the resale value on these with >150k miles.

Cole:
Values are crazy for these cars around here. Wouldn't be buying one for a drift beater, it'd just be a fun project car to do things to it that I wouldn't do to the FRS. But, for over $3000 that has over 300k km, I just can't justify that price. There's one about 25 minutes way from me that has less than 149k on it, but dude wants $7000. To me, that's less than 100k and a manual money.

hugh.:
I was mistaken with my last post. Manual IS300s were never made but we did get a manual IS200 sportcross. That's with the 2.0 L 1G-FE I6. I don't think you guys ever got the IS200 though
