Fixed gear bikes/ Post your big bikes V2
Dr. Steve Brule:
Spiderings and C50 are both dope.
Getting fitted for my new one next Friday, hyped.

So I'm flying home tomorrow and don't plan to ride another tour for a while and don't want my LHT to sit in the shed unused. Help me keep it relevant.
I'm thinking of turning it into a 90s style MTB. The geo is fairly similar and the trails around where I live are suitable for that kind of bike.
Here what I've decided so far:
Nitro Bullhorn bars (I want a set for a future ECR build anyway)
2x9 gearing (older XTR crankset and front and rear dérailleur)
Some decently wide XC tyres. What are the best canti brakes for tyre clearance? 2.3 wide would be ideal.
Can I use a single down tube shifter like Lance Armstrong used to? How would I go about that? I want a single dt shifter for the front ring cause I'll only ever use that before climbs and a rapid fire shifter for the rear cassette. I like uncluttered bars and a frame with unused dt brake ons looks shit
What's the best XTR group set that I can pick up cheaply enough from the past few years?
LeonLikesToRock:
I run Fat Alberts (2.4?) front and rear on my 1x1 with Avid single digit V brakes. Clearance is fine on the front but buzzes on the back, maybe because I run it almost slammed.

Sweet. I think I have a set of those brakes at home somewhere.
What are some strong 26" rims that come in 32h and black?
