Fixed gear bikes/ Post your big bikes V2

Going fairly quickly on a decent and hit a pothole, foot slipped off the pedal and got sort of dragged under the bottom bracket. Fish tailed and dropped the bike and slid a few feet on cheese grater style pavement. Was on the middle front ring so the big chainring was free to dig into my leg.

The top of my shoe is completely worn through so good thing I wasn't dumb enough to go barefoot or else i wouldn't have and toes left.

12 chainring inflicted puncture wounds to the back of my right leg, 8 of which needed stitches. Took all the skin off the top of my index finger, middle finger, and 4 knuckles on my right hand and lost a lot of skin on my right knee. Fucking gnarly road rash

Well that's a bit shit. Hope you heal quick. Did you ride to the nearest hospital?

hugh.:
Nope. Picked up the bike and dragged it onto the footpath. A nearby traffic warden gave me a lift to a clinic. I've been riding with a french guy for the last couple of days and he waited at the scene with our bikes. Got all patched up and the same warden waited for me and gave me a lift back again. Cool guy. Wouldn't accept money even though I think I bled all over his car

Did about 30km afterwards and had no difficulty. Bit sore now but it should pass soon enough.  I've got a bottle of Chianti Classico to help

The show must go on.

Cannock highlighted an issue with the forks which I initially thought was a loose headset, I've got a rattling when the fork is under very light load & some slight movement on the stansion which is making me think the bushings are a little worn. Got my eyes on a lightly used set of lowers so I can just swap out the lowers & see if that solves it.

You may want to route the front hose inside the fork leg. It offers better strike protection and it's "proper" so you won't be harassed by the PinkBike crowd.

I'm not a fan of Orange frames, but that thing looks pretty good. For some reason, I think I'd like it even better if the front triangle were pink, too.

dude...:
not a bike pic but i went mountain biking with a work colleague yesterday, to some trails up in the hills. was pretty fun. uphills suck balls, but downhills flowing fast through berms and stuff was real fun. different experience for me, took a bit of getting used to how you can just monster truck the shit out of rocks and stuff on an mtb
