Fly spring hanger brakes
Cellmember:
I preferred the design they showed at interbike they had a slimmer profile but I can see why they went with the new route as you don't have to modify your brake mounts as in cut them down.
For anyone wanting to see the difference.

I can also see the centre piece where the cable hanger sits warping when using when pulling on the brake.

So i did this back in the day with some odyssey brakes and a road bike spoke. it feels like shit and is a massive pain. the angle of the knarp entrance into the brake arm on the odysseys was just about right that it didnt stay in there at all well but luckily they had that bolt on top to clamp them into the arm. i guess fly will correct for this but without actually clamping to the arm i guess they are going to pop out here and there i would imagine.
my experience was just as g speculates. you also end up with the cable hanger kind of dangling around since the tension on the cable is pretty weak compared to that holding the brakes apart it isnt held in place properly by the cable. hard to explain. you also have to set the cable alignment up in the vertical plane in addition to the normal adjustments

I've been running the brakes since September and I really like them. Simple to install and the pull is actually pretty dialed and smooth. You do have to have your wheel centered or it can be spongy, but when the arms are pretty even it's real good.
