Quick Questions
blueee:
hey, rmemeber when some guy went and individually weighed every part of his ratchet hub... anyone got a link to that?
Trent:
Help me, I must be retarded.
I seem to have lost my pedal wrench so I'm trying to take off the pedals with a ratchet with allen key attachment from the inside.
For the left pedal, the ratchet should be set at loosening clockwise or counter, and vice-versa.
These pedals are either on there way too tight or I've gone mental. Reassure me.
Edit: I'm certain I'm doing this properly, Orbs must be the even stronger than I presumed.
Trail-Boss:
While the bike is upright...
Spin the wrench towards the front of the bike and you are TIGHTENING
Spin the wrench towards the back of the bike and you are LOOSENING
If its too tight with an allen key grab a small piece of pipe and slide it over the allen key for more leverage... Same can be done with a closed end wrench or the hole in the back of a ratchet or breaker bar.
Other wise hit it with hammers.
Trent:
Yeah turns out I'm not retarded, but still a pussy.
Looks like I'm gonna have to take it to the shop because I only have a mini-ratchet and nothing really for leverage.
Sasha:
Crank arm pointing towards front of bike, slightly up from horizontal. Ratchet pointing towards back of bike. Make sure it's in ok then jump on it. As long as your chain doesn't have holes in it you'll be fine.
