hardware store and a green sharpie

--- Quote from: mrjimyjohn;3626052 ---Nitromors shouldn't do anything to aluminum really, I'd say just clean the rims off real good when you're done to make sure there's no residue or anything.

I'm more worried about oxidation. Pretty sure aluminium oxidises still?

mrjimyjohn:
Well yeah but not in the same way as steel. It'll take a good while to start showing signs of oxidization in the first place, but then once the entire surface is oxidized to a certain depth (extremely small number, I'm not sure what it is) it will stop and won't go any deeper. I don't think something like Nitromors would speed that process up but I guess it could happen...

I don't know enough to give you a definite answer, but I would be tempted to say you'll be fine.

--- Quote from: Sasha;3625967 ---Anyone ever rawed/polished a rim? I want to do at least my back one, is it hard? I assume it'll be the same as anything, I'll just need a bigger tub? I have Fly rims too so it should be double fun.

Have been thinking of doing this for a while now, as well.

Best idea I've come up with was the use a garbage can lid as the "tub".

Interested to see what other people say.  Mines anodized.

Sasha:
Mine is anodised too. It has a bit of paint on so I'll see if I can get rid of that and raw it next week some time. Will post pics and hopefully not end up with caustic soda filled rivers in the drilled bits.
