KillSeth:
Would there be any reason why using this type of water-repelling coating on a frame would be a bad idea?

Seems like a nice way to combat rust/gunk.

From that review:
--- Quote ---While it's only been a few days, it seems incredibly unlikely that the coating would last through any continued wear and tear.

Also
--- Quote ---Apparently there's a reason everything they spray down in the promotional video is white. The box claims that the coating dries to a "milky white haze," but what you really end up with is more along the lines of "someone vomited small amounts of white paint onto my belongings and left it in the sun to dry." Generally speaking. And as we already mentioned, that pre-digested milky mélange shakes off with alarming ease—from the places you actually want it to stick to, that is.

It probably wouldn't be the best on a frame or any bike part. Maybe with some more development it would be.
Prodigal Son:
There's a number of hydrophobic coatings now days. Nissan even has one coming out.

What grade steel is the gsport ratchet driver made from?
Narcoleptic Insomniac:
I'm thinking about getting a new back rim and I'm wondering if I should get it in chrome for maximum stopping power. I haven't run a chrome rim in many years but back then the general consensus was that brakes worked better on chrome rims. Is that still a thing or will black rims perform just as good?
