What have you made?
midwestmax:
Built a new weld table today. Just need to buy a sheet of steel for the top.

These are pretty cool, Jens! How did you make them?
Has anyone made anything lately?

I just realized I haven't posted anything in this thread, ever. I feel so ashamed. I've built most of my furniture, but recently started exchanging it for stuff I can take apart since I'm moving soon, and nothing flat packs like ikea unfortunately. Did just pick up a sewing machine today though, and will be most likely reupholstering my car soon.

Cheers! It's pretty simple really. All you need is a laser printer, and something called Medium Gel (artist store). You print your image, mirrored, on a regular paper. Spread out a thin layer of Medium gel onto your surface/wood, and then put your printed image, face down, onto the wood. Use a brush or something to make it really stick to the surface, and avoid air bubbles.
Wait 24 hours. Take a glass of water, dip your fingers in there, and start rubbing the paper off the wood. The image will be left in the wood. Well, it's actually on a layer, on top of the wood, so don't rub too hard. Once you're finished, you can clear coat it if you want, with mod podge. Then all you have to do, it wait for the blisters to appear on your finger tips.

I'll have to give that a try. Thanks!
